Forums - Nintendo - Diddy Kong Racing Wii U Sequel Leaked?

Hmm... Monster Games developed Pilot Wings Resort very recently, so I wouldn't be too surprised if this rumor turned out to be true.

If true, this is an excellent move by Nintendo. Instead of releasing two Mario Kart games per console this generation, they can release two kart racers of different series. The DS remake was a million seller, so with actual advertisement support this game should sell really well.

I have no intentions of buying a Wii U anytime soon.....but if a Diddy Kong Racing 2 is coming out on Wii U?

I might have to call my brothers up and strap on the driving gloves to face Wizpig once more. DKR is not a system-seller, but it is a very strong B+ title, and arguably the best arcade racer since Mario Kart.

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

apart from diddy kong the rest of the characters are owned by RARE right? so how will they work that out?

Conker and Banjo were the only characters owned by Rare, which is why they were already absent in Diddy Kong Racing DS. They shouldn't have any problems.

Can you tell me which console had two Mario Karts? 1 for SNES, 1 for N64, 1 for GCN, 1 for GBA, 1 for Wii, 1 for NDS, 1 for 3DS. Did I miss any?

I never said anything about a previous console ever having two Mario Kart titles. I just said that adding Diddy Kong Racing is an alternative to making two Mario Kart games for the Wii U/3DS.

I definately didn't like DKR on the Wii, so I'd like a new Mario Kart game first.

There was no DKR on Wii.

http://www.amazon.de/Nintendo-Donkey-Kong-Jet-Race/dp/B00104MP4E :D Never played Diddy Kong Racing though, I just assumed it would be similar.

Not similar at all. DKR on N64 and DS is more like Mario Kart for 3DS.

This series was my Mario Kart...

Not sure why Nintendo would make it instead of Mario Kart though, especially if they can't include Banjo or Conker.

Hm, can't see it happening. Especially considering Nintendo will most likely release Mario Kart WiiU in 2013.

Mario Kart Wii was released in 2008.
So there`s a chance the game gets released next year and Mario Kart in early 2014.

If it`s anything like the N64 version, i`m in!
