Hands down the worst move was what they did to Rare. Seriosuly. All those IPS wasted. They are sitting on amazing Ips suc as

Blast Corps, Killer Instinct, Jet Force Gemini, Banjo Kazooie, Perfect Dark, Battletoads, Conker etc.

All amazing games on the N64 and could still prove valuable with long time Ninty fans. DKCR amd NSMB are proof of this.

Shame on you MS. Your worst move ever.

Windows 8 is almost universally unpopular. Bing has been steadily losing $$$$. The RROd-box.

MSFT in general concentrates on too many projects at once. They should put more wood behind fewer arrows.

Bing is a misconception. It wasnt designed to make money on its own. As a sole thing Bing loses money. Even if they are gaining marketsare on Google year by year. Soon it will be profitable on its own. 

But Bing was designed as more than a search engine from the get go. Something that was part of an ecosystem. Bing is already making MS money through its intended purposes.

They've leveraged it in just about every service or product that they offer and continue to expand its reach and innovate on its technologies... Do they make money on Bing itself? No. Do they make money on things powered by Bing? Absolutely.

Ruining Rare

Generally Microsoft have made less mistakes than the other two, imo

Buying some (none gaming related) companies that didn't pay off.

Yur right. Banjo kazooie especially! They were top dog in N64 era, It was only down because of mario 64 and DK64 but even though i love theses games banjo was the king platformer that gen IMO. Great long adventure! Funny Ass Hell 2!

The RROD could have been a disasterous mistake, but eventually turned out to only temporally hurt them. You could count raping Rare as a mistake, but seeing how little impact those games had to the mass market this really is nothing more than an opinion of mine. The XBox360 managed to sell almost 3x better than the old XBox, Kinect is a HUGE success, so I really don´t see any big mistakes from Microsoft. They really did a great job this generation^^

-Not investing enough in older IP's
-MS needs to invest more in japanese developers.
