What the heck is up with Gears of War: Judgment? Tired franchise? I also find it hard to believe that the Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon are that high without a release date.

Please aknowledge that it is not all opinions that are good. Luigi's Mansion has a powerful and loyal fanbase because the Gamecube iteration was quite a success. That's why its preorders are higher without any release date than the likes of Last of Us and God of War. |
lol, Nintendo fans are so defensive and say such silly things. Seriously, you think Luigi's Mansion has a fanbase nearly as big as God of War? Ok, then explain why God of War has 3.9 million fans (https://www.facebook.com/godofwar.page?fref=ts) wheras Luigi's Mansion only has 31k (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Luigis-Mansion/112906108721927). Not to mention God of War: Ascension hasn't even had a story trailer yet and there's only been 7 minutes of the single player campaign gameplay shown yet the game is already doing huge pre-order numbers and is going to be doing even better starting next month when the focus shifts from multiplayer to single player coverage.
The Last of Us also has a (slightly) bigger fanbase than Luigi's Mansion already at 48k (https://www.facebook.com/TLOUps3?fref=ts) and it's going to sell more than Luigis Mansion in the end. As if I need to say this but God of War: Ascension will also sell a lot more, I'd bet on lifetime sales being 40% higher with God of War: Ascension at 6 million and Luigi's Mansion: DM at 3.6 million (if all goes well for both games).
Also Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon is clearly aimed at a younger audience and that's not a bad thing, why does this offend you? Wait don't answer that, let's just drop this unnecessary arguement.

It's amazing that Gears of War: Judgment has had so much more coverage with both its single player and multiplayer components and even after the VGA trailer it still couldn't do half as much as God of War: Ascension's pre-orders during that week which had no new trailers and still nothing but multiplayer coverage, starting next month the gap's going to be growing even bigger when Sony Santa Monica finally start showing what the millions of fans want to see, some single player! (I love the multplayer by the way, the beta is fantastic).
I think God of War: Ascension will sell 6m+ and Gears of War: Judgement will sell between 5 - 5.5m.

Eh, I expect Gears to have a bigger opening and lifetime. Can't see Ascension reaching 6 million - just not in the franchise's sell range. Either way, both will do good, with Gears selling between 5.5 and 6 mill, Ascension selling 5 mill at most. |
If pre-orders are any indication Gears will definitely sell less than God of War.
This will be the 4th Gears game on Xbox 360, while this will only be the 2nd God of War game for PS3.
Id thought that Gears would have higher numbers, not sure about Luigi's numbers, it could be a really frontloaded game. Im personally hyped as i enjoyed the original, hell it'll probably be the only 3ds game i buy next year
I see Metal Gear Rising, Anarchy Reigns and God of War in the charts but no DmC, are pre orders that low or Capcom is not releasing any numbers?
Oooo Bioshock Infinite is a Move shooter. If it turns out to be good I might well get it. I've always wanted to get at least one FPS with Move functionality to see how I like it. Before now it was between R3 and KZ3 but I was never really into these franchises in a conceptual sense, but Bioshock has an interesting premise so I might just get it.

I see God Of war selling better due to the MP that is being added and from what I have seen from the beta, it's worth the addition to the single-player, which adds to the replay value. And with replay value, that means the game won't be traded in a quickly.
I have always been a Gears fan and I can't wait for the release. I think the pre-order numbers are low, now, because it looks like it's going down the same route ODST went. Still, I sure the MP will be great and the SP will be great to play with others. That is if they keep the co-op in the SP.

Compared to the likes of COD, which is almost a 2:1 ratio for the 360 over the Ps3. |

I wouldn't count on Facebook likes to evaluate the situation. My point is that there is hype for Luigi's Mansion, which is normal, which is why it is higher on the preorder list. What is exceptionnal is that it is THAT high, #2 is quite a great achievement, considering the first one had success without having such groundbreaking sales. What buzz me is that someone is making such an irrelevant or pointless bold statement because THAT game's got higher preorder than some other games, like God of War for example (I'm a big fan of the serie, BTW, so it's not really a nintendo fan point of view). Like if it was really that necessary to diminish the feat by saying "it's only 5-10 year olds' game, why does it manage to succeed?" Of course, 5 year old kids play those games. I couldn't even play Mario Bros. at 5...
