lol, Nintendo fans are so defensive and say such silly things. Seriously, you think Luigi's Mansion has a fanbase nearly as big as God of War? Ok, then explain why God of War has 3.9 million fans (https://www.facebook.com/godofwar.page?fref=ts) wheras Luigi's Mansion only has 31k (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Luigis-Mansion/112906108721927). Not to mention God of War: Ascension hasn't even had a story trailer yet and there's only been 7 minutes of the single player campaign gameplay shown yet the game is already doing huge pre-order numbers and is going to be doing even better starting next month when the focus shifts from multiplayer to single player coverage. The Last of Us also has a (slightly) bigger fanbase than Luigi's Mansion already at 48k (https://www.facebook.com/TLOUps3?fref=ts) and it's going to sell more than Luigis Mansion in the end. As if I need to say this but God of War: Ascension will also sell a lot more, I'd bet on lifetime sales being 40% higher with God of War: Ascension at 6 million and Luigi's Mansion: DM at 3.6 million (if all goes well for both games). Also Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon is clearly aimed at a younger audience and that's not a bad thing, why does this offend you? Wait don't answer that, let's just drop this unnecessary arguement. |
I wouldn't count on Facebook likes to evaluate the situation. My point is that there is hype for Luigi's Mansion, which is normal, which is why it is higher on the preorder list. What is exceptionnal is that it is THAT high, #2 is quite a great achievement, considering the first one had success without having such groundbreaking sales. What buzz me is that someone is making such an irrelevant or pointless bold statement because THAT game's got higher preorder than some other games, like God of War for example (I'm a big fan of the serie, BTW, so it's not really a nintendo fan point of view). Like if it was really that necessary to diminish the feat by saying "it's only 5-10 year olds' game, why does it manage to succeed?" Of course, 5 year old kids play those games. I couldn't even play Mario Bros. at 5...
