With 1,8 Million units sold and already 2 million sellers from Nintendo they are already making profit with the WiiU, so I'm sure at least THEY can not complain^^

As i said on the other thread, the WiiU is selling exactly at the pace that will sell what Nintendo siad they would manufacture. It doesn't matter if people who hate the system say they see it on shelves, it's selling out...no way around that. A very good launch, similar to wii.

Pachter's take on Nintendo....surprisingly affable in this video:

Wii U may not be doing as well as some us would like to see (or some of us would love to see fail), there definitely has been enough units sold to take advantage of the falling yen. A lot of Nintendo and Sony trouble is really financially enduced by an unreasonably strong yen. If Yen would fall in response to incoming PMs demand, two of the three stalwarts of console gaming would start having some breathing room in terms of profitability. And that is good for all of gaming, even if you hate Nintendo.
I would say the system is selling good at this rate but as some user posted some time ago the reall challenge will be after the holidays. And with the recent line up i cant seeing the Wii U to be doing strong. maybe i am wrong but i really cant see it. The Wii U right now make the same mistakes like the vita. A strong launch line up but weak demand after the launch. Games are selling the system. Right now Wii U need some games that will drive cosumers to buy a wii U after the holiday season.

How about Pikmin 3, Monster Hunter, Lego City, Aliens, Rayman Legends, Wii Fit U etc. ( http://www.zimmer101.de/wiiu-spiele/wiiu-spiele-2013.html ). Each of these games will sell a lot Wii U.
The Wii U Line Up for the first few month of 2013 seems quite good.
I must disagree z101:
Pikmin 3: Will drive some systems but will not have a mario like effekt.
Monster Hunter: Big in Japan but not so in the rest of the world. Plus its a port from Monster Hunter 3.
Lego City Stories: New IP: Will it drive many systems or will only Wii U existing Wii u owenmers buy that game.
Aliens: Multiplat. You cant get it for X360 and pS3 plus its no system seller.
Rayman Legends: Greast game but not a big game.
The onyl game i can see selling some systems right now is Wii U Fit but how will this work with that fat controller?

id say thats quite a spot on analyisis of the up coming year for nintendo and the games releasing then. they dont have really big system seller, even though all those games surely will all be good, but they wont push many systems...
what nintendo must do is to show us something that makes it worthwhile to get a wii u. they need to show some amazing bayo2 footage, or an unannounced game that will blow our minds. i guess well find out during the next nintendo direct!

Nintendo's 1st half seems to be centred around Wii Fit U selling systems, and I think the time for that game has passed (much like Brain Training and Nintendogs). I don't think women are going to pay $300+ just to play another Wii Fit when they already have the first/second one on the Wii (probably not being used regularly).
Rayman, Wonderful 101, and Pikmin 3 are alright but I don't think they will move many systems, just sell to the existing Nintendo base.
My feeling is Nintendo will hit the panic button in the summer like the 3DS if sales sputter in the 1st half of 2013 and drop the price and then unveil a ton of Mario for fall 2013 (Mario Universe, Mario Kart U).

While I agree that none of those games are system sellers, what they do is reinforce the notion that the console is worth to have and that it has provide the console with games that while individually won't sell the system
It's true that none of those games are systems sellers, but it's also true that any console needs this kind of games. They are the games that, when that special game (call it system seller or not) launches and you think of buying the console, make you think "oh, and there's also X and Y game".
They are the ones that tip the scales in favor of buying the console.
