Monster Hunter is in fact coming; localization of 3G for US and EU, 4 for Japan. So that'll be good .

Anyway, I think we're looking at 40m total by next year, so that would mean 14m+ in 2013 assuming there's going to be at least a million of sales left for this year.
I'm not counting on Pokemon, though that might do wonders, because they just came out with B/W2.

Come on 3DS will sell over a mil next 3 weeks!!! Even two mil easy!! Good bundles this week and Christmas equals highest week in sales! Maybe close to 3mil IMO

Your right pokemon is a must it can push hardware 3-4mil alone if released WW IMO!
Im sure Nintendo will put in 3or 4 more ip's we haven't heard yet, Zelda and Kirby seem the most likely maybe F-Zero and star fox as well! I heard talk naybr SMG3D! has a nice ring to it LOL!

I hadn't considered Kirby. That's a definite possibility, but I don't see it being a major hardware seller. Other possibilities are Advance Wars, Mario & Luigi, Mario vs Donkey Kong, WarioWare, Rhythm Heaven, Donkey Kong, and other Pokémon spinoffs, which are practically a given. Those aren't huge releases that could really push sales, but crowd enough of them together and you could achieve the same effect.

One mil -- definitely. Two mil -- probably. Three mil -- no way.

Okay 2m. Then we're looking at 41m by next year!

I love how exited you always seem with all your exclamation marks :)

OT: Could be anywhere between 10-20 million as far as we know. All expected and especially all unannounced titles are very unpredictable.

At this point though my guess would be around 13 million.

I love that you can tell just looking at a post that it was made from the Wii U. Interesting to note that pictures can't be quoted.

I'm going to say 15 million.

2013:

-Pokemon
-Monster Hunter
Dragon Quest VII
- and much more

These reasons alone should catapult the 3DS to better sales than this year. Hopefully

I'm feeling 16million, maybe more. Maybe less, but unlikely.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

I'm gonna low-ball it and say 12-15 million worldwide sales for 3DS in 2013. Which is basically equivalent to what it's been achieving annually for the last 22 months or so. That puts 3DS at about 80-90 million lifetime at the end of six years on the market, which is definitely a success for a world where most people claim there isn't room for dedicated handhelds.

Third year on should be peak hardware/ software sales, and judging by Luigi's Mansion, Monster Hunter 4, and Shin Megami IV, I'd say Nintendo is fully geared for that. Not to mention I'd expect two or three more big first-party games announced at E3 for holiday release. That should further ensure a very successful third year for the platform.
