I'm gonna low-ball it and say 12-15 million worldwide sales for 3DS in 2013. Which is basically equivalent to what it's been achieving annually for the last 22 months or so. That puts 3DS at about 80-90 million lifetime at the end of six years on the market, which is definitely a success for a world where most people claim there isn't room for dedicated handhelds.

Third year on should be peak hardware/ software sales, and judging by Luigi's Mansion, Monster Hunter 4, and Shin Megami IV, I'd say Nintendo is fully geared for that. Not to mention I'd expect two or three more big first-party games announced at E3 for holiday release. That should further ensure a very successful third year for the platform.
