We all know Nintendo and Sony fans really don't like each other.

We also know Microsoft and Sony fans really don't like each other.

But it has never been clear to me whether Nintendo and Microsoft fans get along. I'm not talking about just this site but the internet in general.

Thoughts?

(Sega fans also do not like Sony fans for some reason either.)

No over-zealous corporate whore fan of a specific console company is going to get on with one another because all of their arguments are equally as rediculous and arguing/talking only highlights just how flawed their thinking is. The only time fans get on with one another is when they are grouped up against a common enemy e.g. MS and Sony vs Mario.

I don't no a single person that likes Microsoft , they like Xbox but not Microsoft itself.

I've used a Microsoft OS since DOS, I don't get why people hate something they use daily.  I've tried the competition and they were inferior for my needs.  Anyway I use a number of their products and consider myself a fan.  I think its just accepted that's its cool to hate on the big guy.

As for the topic, the worst of the Sony fanboys eclipse both Microsoft and Nintendo fanboys so I think they end up causing a stink that rile the other camps too often.  This is just my anecdotal opinion of course and everyone will have a different viewpoint .

A lot of people hated Microsoft well before they came into the industry, people (who werent tech savvy) were still dependent on it. Much like AT&T they were looking to monopolize everything they touched (and are struggling to maintain that). In a previous school I did economy projects  on monopolies and why companies get sued by the government for it and Microsoft and AT&T were the A-list offenders. If you like Microsoft, by all means like them. Its all about choice.

Making a product that's better than others isn't a monopoly.  They don't have a history of buying out competing OS developers.  People hate because they're the most popular, pure and simple.  The monopoly excuse is their competitors just whining at losing out in my experience.

You know who really sucks? PC fanboys. Smugged do-gooders.

PC fanboys are the only ones who are objectively correct. If you think we're underservingly smug, then it's probably your console gaming peasant insecurity talking :P

Well, considering I'm a PC gamer as well, I find PC gamers, overall, to be very whiny and always blame shit on the consoles people. ALWAYS. Besides, all the consoles did was make gaming more accesible in my opinion. Building a gaming desktop/laptop can be quite the hasselhoff.

well for me there are several levels of "fanaticism"
in comments you can see stuff like " yeaah Nintendo ruleeees, the wii u rocks etc..."
and others like "nintendo ruleees sony sucks ps3 piece of crap"
i love Nintendo to death!! and i will support them no matter what, but i can appreciate good games like uncharted, halo, God o war.
the sad part of this "war" is that fan-boys treat consoles as a sport team, they belief that for one company to succeed, other one has to loose and suck. the cant understand that all companies can and have to coexist

Very true. People respond to a brand as if they were apart of it as if it was a sport. Team A rivals team B they will dislike team b. This isnt everyone just loyal fanatics.

Im not getting into this here, but you're essentially calling the government a whiner. This country is losing its standing on monopolies because companies are stronger than a lot of countries in revenue. Sometimes they cant be touched. At one time there were safeguards.

Accessibility is not of value to everyone. Besides, just buying a mid-range laptop and installing Steam is an easy way to gain accest to LOTS of excellent PC games.

Pretty much that. Most parents aren't gonna go up and get a laptop and then figure out a specific program to help the kids buy/play games. Buying a console is so much easier. Besides, with the current FPS craze, consoles are gonna keep an edge over the PC. GRANTED, shooter can be a lot easier on a PC, but eh.

I don't even know what I'm saying. Point is, PC fanboys can be just as whiny and bitchy and insufferable as console gamers, mostly the MMO players. Just go play League of Legends :D

I'd say not. Nearly everyone has a computer. They sell more than consoles. Not seeing your logic.

You are talking about graphics mainly is what I was getting from your post (because Civ isn't graphic intense and it still has stupid AI).  How consoles are holding back PC gamers because of technology.  You have a point if the developer is Blizzard which makes their games to be able to play on a decent amount of low end machines.  However, if the games required Crysis 2, GTA 4 specs to run decently or the way they are supposed to (frame rate, etc) then fewer people would be playing those games on PC.  I'm just saying developing for the most recent tech will never result in blockbuster sales on computers.  Case in point: Compare the sales of almost any Blizzard game to a more graphic intense game on pc.
