Actually I referred to 3rd party killer games as they were sad for the lack of it. 

And to me Mario alone is not sufficient to win the race. N64 and Gamecube are prime examples.

New gen, same old story. Western devs are not going to compete with Nintendo and their IPs, we get some (but few) good third party games and the normal awesome nintendo games. Seeing what nintendo did with Bayonetta and ninja gaiden, I believe nintendo understood there is no real reason to believe western devs will ever see their systems as viable platforms for their AAA titles anymore, and so they most likely will focus on this kind of deals with Japanese devs.
Japan is probably going to be a very important market for nintendo this gen, for both 3ds and wiiU.
I am expecting to see some new announces like the bayonetta one happening soon.
Probably some exclusive big RPG from SE game, a big exclusive fighting game from Namco, new IP from platinum, another big exclusive from Capcom, level5, tecmo-koei, atlus... all published or developed on some degree by nintendo's studios. I do remember hearing a rumor about nintendo making a deal with a brittish company (Codemaster would be my guess) to make a racing simulation game per year...

Thats because E3 will be the point where they unveil a lot. The first two quarters are where the last top exclusives for both consoles are going to be coming out. It's settled the new consoles are on their way with third party support behind them for fourth quarter next year, just wait. The Wii U will be the companion console in most cases with gamers in my eyes.

Wait until the third parties start taking sides. Again, this is Nintendo, they always lose the third party war, so their first party be up to the task.

That is why I think they got monster hunter and dragon quest so early. Iwata probably expects them to start coming up with excuses. Well it is their funeral. They cannot rely on xbox and playstation alone to keep them afloat forever. Development costs are going to get higher and higher and the install bases for those two are barely sustainable for some of those companies now. At least if they aren't on wii u they can't blame nintendo when they start to tank.
