Tagged... I want to see if PS3 is really undertracked

That's a no then.

OT

shocking how badly Sony exclusive 1st party software sells.

We still dont know PS3 numbers...all we know is that its greater than 630k but less than last year.

So what makes you say that?

I'd imagine if they were closer to last year's numbers than 630k Sony would have commented. So 700k seems likely.

Why? It's still lower than last year.

Because anything over 700k would be the system which is down the least YoY. Sony could easily spin that.

I always think with these wide ranges it's always going to be closer to the lower than the higher, but really all we know is VGC may as well not adjust their numbers.

Sony has been making very few comments on numbers of late....whether positive or negative. It only seems that when numbers are really really good do they actually say something. Example: black friday sales.

And even then i stil dont see where the number 700k comes from. Its a complete guess. Its not even calculated. Numbers could be 800k and sony would still be down YOY by 100k!

I agree that Vgchartz should not ajdust numbers, but that doesnt mean we have any idea what PS3 sold this November in the states. This is where i found fault with kowen's post. He made as if its a fact.

I also don't see where the 790k in the title and OP comes from.

Someone please explain?

Common sense.

but you're right, until Sony act more like a business we wil never know.

I dont understand how a public listed company gets away with such secrecy. Pretty ridiculous.

Please tell me how 700k is "common sense"?

And the reason MS never gives 360 SW in there quarterly reports is?

Yeah I don't think they should adjust. They were pretty spot on with most things this month. I do expect them to overtrack 360 a bit again for December though based on it being overtracked this month a bit and on last year's events.

Yeah perhaps adjusting 360 down by 100k would not be a huge mistake, but the Wii and WiiU seems to be about there (perhaps 10k over for Wii, and 10k under for WiiU), but overall a very encouraging month. It shall be December which will test the tracking really.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Sony had no problem giving us Black Friday, numbers so why not this months NPD?

After NPD came out the numbers were adjusted up for 360's NA numbers by like 20k.

I'd imagine any NPD adjustments to happen next week, or later this, really.
