It's a good game for situations when you have several friends over and want to play games. As long is it is judged as such it is a pretty terrific game. It's no Mario Galaxy 1 or 2 though. As a Nintendo fan I would be way more excited for a Yoshi's Island game or Donkey Kong Country HD than this. Like you say.. It doesn't really pose too much of a challenge and looks similar to previous 2d Mario Games. I hope they don't make another Mario game in the same vein as this on the Wiiu. If they do want a new mario 2d game then they should go for a different visual look and evolve it somehow. Like what they did from Mario 1 and Mario 3 on the original nes. 

Why do some people say that this doesn't pose a challenge, some of these levels are ridiculously tough. Lol I saw Mr Khans post about the second star coin for a previous level when I was beating Iggy's castle.

Yeah, SMW indicated which levels contained secret exits. I guess Nintendo knows we have the internet for that now.

I've only had to look up a couple of secret exits (the levels, but not how to get them), and only one star coin. IGN's wiki on the game is an excellent place to find anything you need.

Did anybody try the challenge mode or any of the other modes yet? Me and my brother were playing the Boost Mode Challenges. Pretty tricky. Pretty fun.

I've played it some at my friends house... I can't pass full judgement on it yet, but so far for me it seems to be my favorite 2D mario since World. (maybe better).

Though a complaint with all the new 2D mario's is I'd prefer handdrawn like rayman, and not two different colored toads in multiplayer, make a new character idk.

Yes, I tried the first few time trials and challenges.  I can see this becoming a very addictive part to this game and will lengthen the gameplay by quite a bit.

Second Star Coin of 8-3, which is one of those ones where you have a margin of error of maybe one extra second to get it before the lava rises, or you will die. Lost like 20 lives on it, ragequit without saving, then had to do the remaining coins of 8-1 and 8-2 again.

The third one's no walk in the park either. For that one i conceded and used the Power Squirrel Suit
