High availability indeed ... The only retailer reporting stock is the same retailer that the report is suggesting has a waiting list they can't satisfy; and that could mean that they're selling units they don't have, or that their site has an error that it is demonstrating an item in stock that isn't available. Ultimately, the Wii U is sold out, will likely stay sold out for the rest of the year, and only has to average 125,000 per week for the rest of the year in North America to have the best initial holiday season of any console; something that seems possible if Nintendo can ship enough units.

Or to put it another way, it will likely take Nintendo 2 to 3 weeks to sell as many Wii U systems as Sony sold PS3s in 2006; and probably 3 or 4 weeks to sell as many systems as Sony sold PS-Vita's in 9 months.

So it's either sold out or not sold out. Which doesn't mean much, really.

Sounds like a fabrication of demand to me. While it might be sold out in particular stores, it is by no means an actual sold out product.

Every modern day console has had a good launch. Ask sony about the PS3. Its not the first week that makes a console successful. Wait to see week 3 and 4.

Ps3 did bad ass numbers at first. they fizzled out. People will always buy a console if they really want it. i mean die hard fans. People need to stop getting so hype. Its still early days

Walmart. com said they had th deluxe in i called them they where out but the guy wasa jerk i should have went thee and beat him lol.

there wasn't wii u at target or walmart after it came out for a while, i checked 3 times. I saw both SKUs on thanksgiving night when walmart opened at 8pm, but they might have stocked those specifically for that sale.
