So if someone says in my opinion I feel like I can fly... hey I might just try jumping of a building.  I cant say you're wrong?

A persons ability is not subjective. A person view on Microsoft's business strategy as a gamer, is subjective.

Imo you have been unable to disable an opinion.

On Black Friday 3 month XBL cards sold at a pace more than 50% higher than last year. Gonna be a lot of people experiencing Live and most will be sticking around once the 3 months are up. What a failure.

Some people don't mind being nickel and dimed...

Off topic, but I didn't realize PS+ auto-renewed. Bastards renewed my 3 month without my noticing.

I'm really shocked that so many are defending paying for Xbox LIVE. I can understand the argument "well it sucks, but how else am I supposed to play Halo?" I don't understand all the people defending the practice as if they were shareholders.

Maybe some of the people defending are shareholders or maybe they are happy seeing Microsoft's profits.

OK. But there is a difference between willing to pay for something and eager to pay for something. Wouldn't everyone here rather LIVE be free? I understand it might not be as good if it was free, but wouldn't everyone prefer a free service? I'm not saying people shouldn't be proud of using Xbox LIVE; I'm saying I'm surprised people are so proud of paying for it.

Would you prefer if your clothes were free? Don't you wish food was free? But what if the free options don't appeal to me as much as affordable pay options?

We pay because it gives us access to what we prefer. Also, its not a significant amount of money. Especially compared to other entertainment expenses.

This isn't about pride, this is people paying for a service they prefer on hardware they prefer.

If I were an XBL user, I'd simply prefer to receive for free what's free everywhere else (basic multiplayer, etc) and having to pay, if I want, only for the extra features and improvements the others don't offer for free or even haven't available at all. Plain and simple.

The basic multiplayer for free on PSN or the Wii is nowhere near as good to many people who play on XBL though. Tomorrow I'll head down to Five Guys and order a double cheeseburger and I'll try telling them that since McDonald's only charges like $1.50 or whatever for a double cheeseburger that I should pay the same for theirs. I'll report back with results.

That's why I didn't sign up for PS+ when it was free following the PS3 outage.  I gladly downloaded all of the free games across two PSN profiles, though!

Thats one reason why I never put my credit/debit info online lol. Can go to gamestop and buy fund cards while you are buying new games.

Its much easier to take your credit card off of PSN than Xbox Live. You literally have to call Microsoft for them to let go of it.

My credit card is on my 3DS, Wii, PS3, Xbox360, Wii U, and Vita. It makes buying from their online stores easier for me. I buy a lot of content. I took my credit card info off of XBL once by just going to accounts management.  A few years ago, it was tougher than that, though.

My thing with PS+ was that it was just a month and I wasn't sure when the option to cancel would appear.  At the time, there was nothing to appeal to me and I was afraid I'd get stuck with a whole year of a service I didn't really have much of an interest in.
