So I pay for internet and then I buy a console and finaly I have to pay to use my internet connection AGAIN? No my friend, you don't think like me.

I said mobile AND LANDLINE! Do you take your, now read carefully, HOME PHONE with you everywhere? Oh, you pay for a house on a mortgage? Must take that everywhere with you too? You pay for it so you must be able to use it all the time no matter where you are? I'm glad I don't think like you.

 

People pay for netflix and other internet based subscriptions? Why rip on xbl??

Also just so you know, when you do things like buy a phone the reason why it's justified paying for monthly service is because there is no other alternative. You either pay or you don't get to talk or text etc. With Xbox live Gold, 90% of the features that it offers are already available on other platforms for free. That's why you simply can't compare things such as phone subscriptions or TV service to Xbox Live Gold membership.

no this was not from a gamers perspective.  This was from your perspective.  People who play on XBL are happy with it.  Not going to lie, all these threads are getting annoying real quick and I believe you've made a few of them, I could be wrong but it really is getting tiring.  People could easily make threads bashing PSN or PSN+ which Im 100% positive is your favorite platform so if you are going to keep making these type of threads that draw console wars prepare.

BTW Im not even positive that Part chat came out when you said you were on XBL.  It was just cross game private chat for a long time.

I haven't made any other threads regarding the issues with xbox live. And as I said (if you even read what I wrote) go ahead and make threads bashing psn or psn+ or even nintendo. But you didn't read that part did you? This is from a gamers perspective, because as a gamer the type of services microsoft is offering are simply not worth my money. Of course people who pay for xbox live are happy with it, as was I when I had it in 07. I'm sure it's definitly improved, but once I found out I could have online for free on a different platform...I was gone.

Once again this is not from gamers perspectives, this is from your perspective......And no there is no need on bashing any of the online services.  Play your games and have fun with them.  For some reason I as well as many people don't even believe you had XBL, not that you need to prove that because I dont care.  I still stand behind Steam as being the best online service while I see PSN being 3rd.  Not because PSN is bad but because it has no games I care about for multiplayer. I love there exclusives for storyline but they just dont seem to make compelling multiplayer games.  I had fun with KZ2 but that was it.  The lack of party chat is also irritating because then you have to listen to kids with there bluetooth headsets listening to music, babies in the background, or just plain annoying.  Sure there is occasions where someone is cool on there but its just the same on XBL.  You have those annoying kids that you just dont want to listen to so you go to party chat and you can avoid them.  There is other features that PSN is missing to this day but by next gen PSN has a real chance of catching back up to XBL.  For this gen it is lacking many features.  Did I say that any of this makes XBL worth it?  No i did not but Im willing to pay because I find it a good service.  If it was bad then Id be complaining.  If it was free then Id be even happier, but Im not going to bitch about paying 5 dollars a month for it either.

Theres a mute button. 


Very aware of that but when you have friends with you you dont want to have to mute every other person.  Get in a party and bam its all gone.  Now like i said this will most likely be put into the PS4, but atm PSN is missing features that from "a gamers perspective" it needs

The hassle of having to mute every other person is something i'm willing to do if it means not having to pay for a subscription. 


And that is your decision, now stop trying to sway everyone into thinking just like you.  People have different opinions. decisions, and different minds so get use to it.  Just like you said above no sane person would pay for it?  haha  That is only your opinion now drop it.

Because XBL forces you to pay for Gold even if all you want to do is pay for netflix. How do you find that normal?! No sane person can justify the way Microsoft does this.

You didn't reply to the first bit. 10 million or whatever people on WoW say hi. It's common now. Get with the times.

if "the times" are having to pay monthly subscriptions to access content which is free on a different product/service then I don't want to get with it.


Soon you might not have a choice. PSN+ was made probably because they realized too late that online subscription is the way to go. They're in a business are they not? To make money? If they forced pay to play on people now you'd be alienated and possibly switch console or stop all together online.

If it was not XBL subscription there would be PS+ in fact if Sony had the same dominance as last gen they would have probably have a subscription service. Just face it, Microsoft paved the way for you to come on a forum and brag how cheap you are and how PSN is the greatest because it's free.

I already did. You can justify paying for something that has NO alternatives. Xbox Live has alternatives. Paying to use a phone/landine does not. You either pay to use them or you just simply can't use them because you aren't paying. Same goes for a mortgage/renting a home. You either pay for those things, or you are homeless.

I doubt Sony or Nintendo would charge their consumers for online. Once both companies offer Party chat, the only thing Xbox gamers will say is superior is the connection online. Which is a bunch of bull since it all depends on your internet connection.

I said no sane person can justify paying for Xbox Live Gold just so you can have the option to pay for services such as Netflix, when you can pay just for netflix itself on the Wii and PS3. And yes that is my opinion, it's in capital letters in the thread title and I reiterate countless time saying how all of this is my opinion. Yet, you people still don't seem to understand. Meh.
