Forums - Nintendo - Face-Off: Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 on Wii U

Only Sony fans in here, so I'll be the lone Ninty voice.

Clearly, the game isn't optimized for the Wii U and with special attention, I think the Wii U version can match the initial benchmarks Activision set for it.

I think Pezus made a great point too. The Wii U version will sell far less than either the PS360 versions, so it's not really worth the extra money and time to optimize it completely when you'll only sell a relative few copies due to the new hardware launching.

I don't see the reason for all this WiiU graphics power debate.

1) It is not head and shoulders above the PS3/360. It has slightly more GPU power, and a larger pool of memory. The CPU is not quite as powerful, but the whole industry is moving towards GPU's doing CPU work anyways, so no surprise.

2) This console has to display two images, and stream one of them to an external device. PS3 and 360 have nothing close to this to worry about.

3) These are launch titles. They were developed on hardware not specific to the WiiU until the last couple of months of development. There is no way any developer will ever come close to showing a consoles abilities on launch day, it does not matter what platform you like.

PS3/360 fans, WiiU is more powerful than gen 7 hd consoles. It is not, however, WiiU fans, the massive step that, that group of hardcore gamer's wants to see from a gen 8 console. In the end of gen 8 WiiU will be pushing graphics impossible on PS3/360. We all know this already of course, so everyone, back to your posts, we have a pointless war to wage.

See, 360/PS3 guys had all the reason to doubt activision and their Full HD 60 fps promise.

I knew from day one that this game wasnt going to be full 1080p, but i was expecting 720p so its either lazy deveoper or something else.

Sony fans?

Vertigo-X, Nsanity, and Barozi probably wouldn't want to be called that in the strictest sense. Outside of them, it's mainly PC people posting in here. It's like you're on a vendetta against a crowd of people that stole your candy or something.

I can't tell.  A lot of these threads are started and began by fans of that crowd and I thought most of those who posted before me were too.

I'm not mad or anything, you might be, I noticed your edit - but I just wanted to weigh in.

EDIT: And you edited again... why the need to snap at me if I'm the one who felt their candy was stolen?

"To put things into perspective, during our online testing there were 321,502 concurrent players online with the PlayStation 3 version of the game. Curiously, that beat out the Xbox 360 version, which clocked in at 282,683. The Wii U version could only boast 452 players. "

These numbers are notable I think, because this would suggest more Europeans buying the PS3 version than the 360 version, yet we have the 360 version outselling the PS3 version pretty significantly even there. Also, I can't believe only 452 were playing BlopsII on Wii U. Wtf!

I think the PS360 numbers are worldwide while Wii U is US only.  Plus, the bulk of folks will have already bought the game on PS360 as it came out on those systems a few days before launch and didn't require the purchase of a brand new system.  Not to mention, the Wii U is not only a week old yet.  That Wii U number will probably grow the fastest of the three.

Why would I be mad when you made the comment like someone was out to get the system?

It's just ironic that the first thing you want to do is call out a certain group of people (as it seems you've been doing a lot, lately), and then not even know what's what.

No, that's just how you interpreted it.  A saw who was posting and made a statement about it - it's YOU who took it to mean what you wanted it to mean.  You're being very defensive.

And no, I only did that in two threads.  That's hardly "a lot", so please don't sensationalize things.

This is a great post. Maybe we can plaster this on the homepage, and eliminate some very redundant threads.

Relatively, yes. But definitely not in raw numbers. 452 players in USA only is still rather lackluster for the biggest franchise in gaming on the Wii U. Didn't the Wii U sell out?

Obviously not in raw numbers, pezus.  Come on, it's impossible for that to happen.  Don't know why you even needed to point that out.

I second this.  Great post.
