Other things that make the Wii U so awesome:

-If you have headphones, you've got a surround sound like experience. Just plug 'em in during gameplay. Even if you're playing on the TV, you can hear the audio from the headphones. Pretty sweet.

-Mii Verse is an addiction and it's integrated into some games. I was playing NSMB U and, in the middle of the game, I was able to post messages to other players about my progress or read there messages on the map. Color me impressed. If you think Xbox Live is a community, prepare yourself. The Nintendo Network is a family!

-You're often not forced to use the new pad. Just fire up your Pro Controller and your Black Ops 2 experience is the same as any other console.

-You don't have to guess if a username sounds feminine. Just look at their Mii. Now, you know if you're flirting with a girl!

-TV Controls: Function flawlessly. Sometimes, I can't find the remote. I ALWAYS know where the pad is. Turns on the TV, chooses my stuff on DirecTV and controls the volume without a hitch.

-In game browser: Not only is the browser fast as lighting, you have access to it at almost any time (not during an online game of Call of Duty, though). Great for looking up a youtube video of Mighty Switch Force while you're actually playing Mighty Switch Force!

Yep, some of those I haven't tried but they do sound quite awsome. It's stuff like this that that IGN reviewer should have been talking about when he reviewed the Wii U,stuff that makes the Wii U fun, instead focusing in 1 or 2 seconds more of load times.

I've a seperate monitor next to my TV, so yeah I could do that for ages. Was also cheaper than a WiiU :P

And just as Panama said, the Laptop would've probably been the better idea.

ha ha, that must look quite rediculous! Post a pic of that setup for me pretty please What, you got like two 50" screens next to each other or you got one big one and a little one? ha ha., or maybe two little iddy biddy screens. Seriously, please post a pic, it must look like a real hot mess of a setup.

Sorry if this is an intrusive question, but why wouldn't you just let your son use Netflix on the computer or perhaps a laptop or tablet which all most likely have better screen quality than the Wii U pad?

True, but what if he wants to play Mario U and I want to play Skyrim? Then only the Wii U, not a pc, con solve oour problem.

You could connect your 360 to your laptop screen though you'd need an adapter for that. Still it's far from impossible.
Again the easier method would simply be two TVs/monitors. (or one TV and one monitor)

Honestly, I don't have a TV anymore lol, Wii U like console (or a handheld) is what I'll be getting.

Wii U owners , a question:

Do the adapters accept AC current from 110v to 240v or only 110v only? I am tempted to get one from the US.

I'm not sure. All it says is 110v on the adaptor.

Yep, that must look quite crazy. What you got on the 24" I hope it's the PS3, cause PS3 720 resolution games look like crap on bigger screens.

Even I, the mild mannered d21lewis, have a laptop connected to my HDTV.  It's pretty sweet.  I'm using it right now to post on VGChartz.  A laptop in the closed position using a VGC cable connection and 1280x960 resolution (don't know why.  My old TV that I did this with supported a higher resolution but no worries.  It's still crystal clear).  I keep a wireless keyboard and a wireless mouse near my sofa.  I say 75 percent of my VGChartz activity comes from this setup.  The rest come from our other laptop or the rare post from my cell phone or some other game console because no other option exists.  I'll probably be using the Wii U a lot in the future, though.

I never open the laptop, though.  It's purely for browsing on my TV and it would probably have a hard time running anything but the most basic of PC games.  Still, it's a second screen right next to my 42 inch LED.  Doesn't look bad at all.  I wouldn't use it for Netflix though.  I WOULD use the Wii U pad.

I'll tell you what the most awesome feeling on Wii U is for me, Being under the covers in my comfy bed, Owning people on COD!!! And yes, I play under the covers because it's freaking cold!! haha

I find it equally awesome as the fact that you can watch TV while another person plays on the Wii U.
