True, but what if he wants to play Mario U and I want to play Skyrim? Then only the Wii U, not a pc, con solve oour problem.

You could connect your 360 to your laptop screen though you'd need an adapter for that. Still it's far from impossible.
Again the easier method would simply be two TVs/monitors. (or one TV and one monitor)
