Forums - Nintendo - Yet another reason the Wii U is so Totally Awesome!

Is playing your Wii U and PS360 at the same time a cool feature made possible by the Wii U?

Yeah, that is quite cool 101 74.26%

Nope, it's just a gimmick 35 25.74%

OK, so I woke up this morning to get an early start on my gaming, because once either my wife or son gets up, which they usually do at the same time, they tend to ‘interrupt’ my gaming experience. So before long they did wake up and did interrupt my bonding session with my Wii U.

My son wanted to watch Netflix, so I quit my Mario U session and started up Toy Story 2 in Netflix and had it running on the TV. Then I proceeded to grab my laptop to go and surf the web L. But then I had an Epiphany, and thought, is it possible to let my son watch Netflix on the Wii U while I turn on my 360 and go play some more Skyrim?

Well, with the Wii U it was all made possible since, I could switch the Netflix viewing from the TV to the Wii U Gamepad. I then switched the audio receiver over to the 360 and then booted up my 360 and played on the TV while my son is oblivious to how awesome the whole experience is. I mean how cool is that, that you can actually be using two separate consoles and experiencing them at the same time? Not only that but then it's possible for my son to quit Netflix and go play Mario U while I'm in the same room playing my 360 and without interrupting my play. I think that is quite awesome.

Nintendo and the Wii U made this possible, and such is one of the many reasons I love my Wii U.

Did this last night. I was going to play Halo 4 but my GF made dinner. While I was eating, my kid jumps on my 360 and plays Castle Crasher and Feeding Frenzy (WTF?). I just fire up the Wii U and play Call of Duty for an hour or so. No problems.

We already have a second 360 in the living room but the Wii U pad makes for a nice third option. Much of the time, from my experience, you don't even need a TV.

Sorry if this is an intrusive question, but why wouldn't you just let your son use Netflix on the computer or perhaps a laptop or tablet which all most likely have better screen quality than the Wii U pad?

Yeah the Wii U seems awesome!!

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Other things that make the Wii U so awesome:

-If you have headphones, you've got a surround sound like experience. Just plug 'em in during gameplay. Even if you're playing on the TV, you can hear the audio from the headphones. Pretty sweet.

-Mii Verse is an addiction and it's integrated into some games. I was playing NSMB U and, in the middle of the game, I was able to post messages to other players about my progress or read there messages on the map. Color me impressed. If you think Xbox Live is a community, prepare yourself. The Nintendo Network is a family!

-You're often not forced to use the new pad. Just fire up your Pro Controller and your Black Ops 2 experience is the same as any other console.

-You don't have to guess if a username sounds feminine. Just look at their Mii. Now, you know if you're flirting with a girl!

-TV Controls: Function flawlessly. Sometimes, I can't find the remote. I ALWAYS know where the pad is. Turns on the TV, chooses my stuff on DirecTV and controls the volume without a hitch.

-In game browser: Not only is the browser fast as lighting, you have access to it at almost any time (not during an online game of Call of Duty, though). Great for looking up a youtube video of Mighty Switch Force while you're actually playing Mighty Switch Force!

Man, I have Netflix built into my TV, accessible on my Cell Phone, it's on my 360 with Kinect, on my laptop, on my Vita, on two 3DS consoles, on my Wii U, and on my PS3 (and laptop, obviously).

Before, the PS3 was always the Netflix option of choice (with the Vita being the option when I was washing dishes and my phone when I was a work).  The Wii U has become the system of choice now because the gamepad screen is awesome (no blurring or anything), the service is quick, and the interface is slick.  Plus, a kid will probably have an easier time destroying a laptop than a Wii U controller.

Yeah, I'm drinking the Nintendo Kool Aid but people seem to be underestimating the quality of the Wii U.

*edit* I thought Netflix was only accessible on five devices.  They keep letting me add stuff so I just keep on adding!

I've a seperate monitor next to my TV, so yeah I could do that for ages. Was also cheaper than a WiiU :P

And just as Panama said, the Laptop would've probably been the better idea.

nice! Nintendo, keeping the family together Wii U!

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

Honestly, I don't have a TV anymore lol, Wii U like console (or a handheld) is what I'll be getting.

Wii U owners , a question:

Do the adapters accept AC current from 110v to 240v or only 110v only? I am tempted to get one from the US.

True, but what if he wants to play Mario U and I want to play Skyrim? Then only the Wii U, not a pc, con solve oour problem.
