Forums - Nintendo - Looking for a USB HDD for your WiiU? LOOK NO FURTHER.

That is, so long as you can spare $80 and spare it today, I figured I'd hook you guys up.

Today, for Black Friday, Newegg has 2TB USB 3.0 HDDs on sale for $79.99 (in other words, $80 and you get overkill that covers your WiiU needs forever). Has free three-day shipping.

If 2TB is just too much for you, here's a 1TB for $70, with free 3-day shipping

or a 1.5TB, also $70, that CAN have free shipping (but theirs is slower - 5-9 days):

If you're really looking to save money, here's a 500GB for $50. Free 3-day shipping.

Also, if you all are interested, I will try keeping this thread updated with future deals beyond the reach of Black Friday. I'm ONLY looking on reputable parts websites, so you can trust whatever links I give you.

I know it will support 2TB but....there's absolutely no need for that kind of storage, yet. No movies, no demos, no trailers (they all stream from the net), not that many eShop games, no pics, no music player, no game installs. Unless something changes, I should be good with my 32GB for a year.

Now, if you're the type that buys games digitally instead of from retail (and you'll regret it, someday!), that's another story.

True since the whole HDD needs to be WiiU formatted (or so I guess) you can only use it for that system and nothing else.

500GB should be easily enough for the regular gamer. 1TB for the most hardcore ones (with huge libraries).

Hey, I DID label that 2TB one as overkill! Haha, I don't disagree at all, but I figured I'd give plenty of options.

I ordered that 2TB, but only because (1) it's a freaking amazing deal on one, and (2) I'm going to be swapping it out with a 500GB HDD that's currently inside my computer.

Considering that nintendo has not fixed the NNID, I think it would be wise to not jump the online only train.
