Hello everyone! As some of you may know, I used to organize a Wii Secret Santa event every year around this time. Dozens of you in every region participated each year, for which I again thank you. This was possible because of the Wii Shop Gift feature, a marvelous idea which the other consoles should have copied years ago.

I had hoped that successor systems to the Wii and the DS would continue to support the Gift feature, but for whatever stupid reason neither the 3DS nor the Wii U do. However, the Wii Shop remains open, and can be used for both Wii and Wii U owners, so what I'd like to know is if there is any interest in Wii/Wii U owners in having our fourth (mostly-annual: sorry about last year!) Wii Secret Santa event.

Please let me know if you're interested; if there are enough nibbles, I'll start spamming folks' walls in the middle of next week. Please also note that I'm planning on organizing a Steam Secret Santa as well, and that everyone is invited to join either or both. Thank you!

I'm gonna sit this one out, this year. I still haven't touched the game I got last year.

Don't have my Wii anymore, but I was looking through some old vgchartz messages and would like to give a shout out to the late Old Rock, who gifted me a game that I put many hours on. 

You guys should do the Secret Santa program this year!!! Still plenty of games on Wii shop channel and it's a ton of fun!

but at this point it seems a little strange as you can get a lot of full retail Wii games for the price of wiiware/VC titles but of course we can't easily exchange those.

I'll need to update my info as it's a different Wii now and there's only three games I'd want to get.

Ah, that'd be cool, to do that again... I didn't even know the 3DS & U don't have a gift feature! That kinda blows. Maybe in a future update?

Unfortunately I can't participate now that I've done the Wii -> Wii U transfer.

I wasn't around this time last year, unfortunately, hence the "almost annual" part.

Can you do me a favor before I go all half-cocked and screw things up? I know the Wii U can still access the Wii Shop (and that the system goes into "Wii Mode" to do so), but can you please check to see if the Wii Friends List exists in that mode, and if a person can add/subtract from it?

Edit: Apparently the "almost annual" part decided to stay in my head and not get on the keyboard as I'd intended. Stupid brain, always lying to me...

With more info, maybe I might. I'm willing to put in 10$, for what it means to the Secret Santa thing.
