Forums - General Discussion - Need help choosing a laptop

So I studied Computer Science but I don't know shit about HW and I'm pretty undecided in which Laptop should I buy. I don't want a laptop for gaming , just for work and I need it to be able of running a Nexus7 emulator in Eclipse :P.

My budget is $650 and I have my eyes on this one Sony VAIO E Series SVE14118FXB 14-Inch

What do you think, is that a good choice or should I look elsewhere?

Edit: No less than 14'' and preferably availabe at Amazon.com

Why don't you make like a tree and get out of here?

Your set on 14" screen or does it matter on the size?

I have had a few Sony laptops and they have all done well, so I would happily recomend one

Yeah I think that less than 14'' wouldn't do it for me.

The one you posted is pretty good.

Heres an ASUS with a good Graphics card

Looks quite nice, I've always liked the look of sony laptops, was gunna buy one a while back but I brought a acer instead and its been playing up ever since. Had to take it back once for overheating and last month the mouse pad just stopped working :/

Second look at it and I gotta say compared to where I live that's a great price, I paid more than that for mine and It's specs are way worse than that. Mines only 8 months old aswell.

My only advice...don't get an HP.....I've had 2. Both were terrible mistakes.

I second this. And add Acer and Packard Bell to it.
