I have been stuck at work since before midnight last night. So I haven't been able to add anyone else yet... I will try when I get home.

I added you but it was through the friends list so you won't get any notifications.  From now on I suppose I will go to Miiverse to add people so it gives them the notification.

Guys you do get notification of request . When someone sends you a request pressing the home button will reveal it. The home button will light up too. Also the miiverse icon will vibrate. Only problem is I cant pin pointed what activate whats. I think home lighted up home button means accepted request, vibrating miiverse icon means notification through miiverse and home button with orange message means through friends icon

Adding friends from the friend list channel doesn't send notification.  Only Miiverse sends notifications that someone added you.  If you add some one on the friends list then they will have to add you too with no notification.

Anyone know how to take in-game screenshots?

If you hit the home button while playing, then select Miiverse, when you add a comment, there will be a button when adding the comment to add a screenshot, you can grb one from either screen
