It finally updated, I stuck in Blops 2 and now it needs to update :( screw this HD gaming crap with all the updates and downloads, I'm going to plug my wii back in.

I'm not hardcore enough for this.

:O you will have to tell us how good the port is.

I haven't played the other versions but I would imagine its pretty much the same except you can use the pointer controls and do 2 players with seperate screens. If anyone likes pointer controls they will absolutely love it.

I also played the zombie mode while my 3 girls watched bubble guppies on the couch beside me. This thing is going to be absolutely great for people like me.

Sounds good! Obviously that is one of the bigger draws of the system; and I'm sure far more uses will come about in the future for the feature.

And yeah, I'm sure in the coming months and years the WiiU will develop into quite the force to be reckoned with.

No, waiting for Australian release, and me to get a job. If that takes ages, I might then hold out for a hard drive space increase/new sku/price drop.

miiverse is awesome i can definitely see myself just going through tons of different games communities to just see what was posted about them and also nice that u can see if someone in the community has played said game. somewhat easier to spot the trolls lol.

Am kind of in the regret it pile right now. I picked up the deluxe model along with Zombie U and New Super Mario Bros. U.

Nintendoland is very meh ... tech demo just as expected but I did not buy the system for it anyways so it was just a nice pack in I guess.

New Super Mario Bros. is every 2d Mario game you have ever played. It is enjoyable, but there are zero new features of any note aside from the rather nice graphical upgrade. Is basically New Super Mario Bros. Wii/DS with a graphical face lift.

Zombie U: This one was dissapointing. I guess I had the impression the game was not going to be so linear. Linearity can work in a survival horror game, but the game barely qualifies as such. It is hard to get a feeling of dread when I constantly have Prepper or Pepper or whatever is name is blaring his radio in my face. The immersion killing Wii U pad does not help matters either. It is a standard and very pedestrian attempt at a survival horror game. I hear the multiplayer is good though (local only makes it rather worthless for me since I am not going to talk my gf or anyone else into playing it more than once).

Overall I am not impressed, but I kind of bought it on its future potential (Rayman, Pikmin 3, Super Smash, ect.)

If you for some reason only have a Wii and you are looking to get into next gen gaming then this console is perfect as there are already a slew of ports of a bunch of big games that came out in the past year. If you are like me (and most gamers I would imagine) you have an Xbox 360, PS3, or PC so the group of people who can benefit from an upgrade to the Wii U are quite limited.

Ah I am sad to here that. How do you feel about the online of the system? Miiverse, for example?

I'm sure the future is bright, but for now I hope the situation improves for you!

i like the sound of miverse and that side of things you'll get with nintendo,i don't have £300 notes to shell out these days and probably won't for a while unfortunately

updates these days are just a part of the times i don't really have a problem with them and lets the developers and nintendo keep things up to date

liek the sound of the wiipad though let us know how it works for games like batman too,the videos looked good for that one

Have someone tried a mouse or keyboard on the wiiu ?
Like mouse for navigation in the browser or the keyboard to type msg or url address ?
Because I dont like to have a conversation with someone and have to type it via dpad :(

I was going to add friends to my system but I accidentally clicked on Miiverse instead of friends list. Miiverse just sat there on the title screen and didn't seem like it was doing anything. I remember people saying it wasn't really working lately or something. I had to pull the power to my system just to get it unfrozen.

Same happened to me 3 times but with NSMBU.  The game will lock up at the pre title screen and would not move.  Holding down the power button on the console doesnt work (which i find disturbing) and had to unplug from the outlet.

Ill have a final tally of my experience so far in the first 24 hours later on today.  Will put it out there its more negativies than positives.

Yea, I was sitting there holding the power button first on the gamepad (that just turned the gamepad off) then I went to the system but holding it for awhile didn't do anything.  I was like well I guess the only solution is to pull the power cord.  It would be nice that the front power button turns the system off even during a freeze up.
