OK, here's my clue for #44.

This game is a console remake of an open-ended PC game.

Deus Ex?

That will be on my list :) But not yet.

Another hint: the console version isn't identical to the PC version. It has a slightly different story and added modes. Although more linear than its PC counterpart.

Is the console version a download title?

Not a download title. Another hint: the franchise inspired a movie.

You just made this harder, lol. I was going to say Crysis or Far Cry.

It IS Far Cry! Far Cry Instincts, to be precise. And sadly, it was made into a movie in Germany.

Haha! I did not know that. I think I'll avoid it

Ugh, now I'm two titles behind?

46 was Call Of Duty: Black Ops (Wii), and 45 was Grand Theft Auto III.

44 will be a title where the main character has been around for far longer than video games.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Epic Mickey!

45. Okami, PS2/Wii (2006/2008) Capcom, Clover (Ready at Dawn on Wii port), last year 43

An incredibly misleading journey through the stories of the Kojiki and the Nihongi, founding mythological stories of Japan. Despite vast theological inaccuracy and the games often-repetitive combat, this game ends up being endlessly charming between its mythic art style and Zelda-esque characters and the wide variety of techniques you are given to make the repetitive combat somewhat thought-provoking.

Number 44, a controversial launch title of the 6th generation, it's franchise's first proper foray into 3D, the sections with a cat were especially disliked.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Too easy, i guess. I should have left out the part about the cat

Yep! Castle of Illusion was a good answer and may be making the list as well...

I was hoping the sequel would improve things; early reviews don't suggest that though...
