Umm no, its a well known fact people buy based on popularity, pre-conceived notions. Why would so many more spend 100 more on an inerior tablet? Marketing advertising, falling for hype.... It's this pack mentality people have over buying products, even if there are better options. This is a known fact.

 

Apple is done a good job of making themselvs the It thing to get, even after it has been surpassed. It's peoples mentality, once it gets that stigma it's hard to break.

I agree people do buy based on popularity, but in general people wouldn't buy a product based on popularity alone, there needs to be some substance as well.

One thing you need to address is that the iPad in general isn't an inferior tablet, but is in fact the market leader technically.

Although Apple will need to address iOS as a priority as it is beginning to look and feel outdated and IMHO Windows 8 has the significant edge.

The mobile section on vgchartz??  YEah brimming with experts. No the nexus 10 has ipad beat in almost every way in specs, cost per performance, features. . Read some ipad mini reviews, low specs, less features and more expensive. Early nexus 10 previews are glowing.

I got to play around with an iPad mini yesterday at an Apple store, and I gotta say ... it's fantastic. I think that form factor is going to be the future for basic tablets. It's incredibly slim and light and just looks great.

Going back to the full size iPad felt like it had the weight of a steel brick by comparison, lol.

The only thing that sucks is no Retina screen on the first revision.

Apple does need to spice up iOS though. It's still perfectly funcitonal, but starting to feel dated. The next version should be a bit more dynamic and allow for more customization.

Android is OK, but to me it just feels like a bit of a mess compared to iOS or Windows 8 RT.

Yeah it's nice to customize things, but I was in the Sony store looking at one of their new Android phones, and my GAWD, whatever base interface they were using was ugly as sin (straight out of 1996) and was slowing down just by swiping through the main screen icons.
