You realise durijng normal use the gpu is barely taxed to right? It is still the cpu that processes it all, a gpu is not used nearly as much as the cpu thats a technoligical fact. Multi-tasking is especially a cpu thing.

And because of how iOS is written, multi-tasking isn't as CPU-intensive. It sandboxes apps and minimizes the footprint of each. It's not a system I'm terribly fond of but it works pretty well in mobile devices, minimizing the amount of CPU and RAM you need in a device while also extending battery life.

Doesnt change the fact its moe intensive on CPU then GPU.  CPu is way more important in a tablet then the gpu.

Have you ever coded anything in your life? I'm guessing that answer is "no".

Yes I have but thats irrelevant. I have worked in IT in development as well as now in an operational role. The CPU is used way more doing evryday tasks. Again its why business pc's come with good cpu's but just motherboard GPU's.

You're talking about ancient software written for an ancient time.  The iPhone radically changed people's expectations of how interfaces should look (swooshy animations and gliding transitions).  To implement this stuff well, you need GPU power, not CPU power (Apple pioneered the use of GPU accelerated window management as far back as OS X 10.2).  The reason iOS has always been more responsive than Android on comparable hardware is because of this mastery over the GPU.  The Nexus needed a fast CPU just to come close to the responsiveness of a two-year old iPhone.

Im talking about current software and technical facts, the cpu is still the brain of a tablet.

Benchmarks show your wrong, nexus is as fast as most tablets twice expensive, maybe try to bring facts to the discussion. and no CPU is always more important in any device as EVERYTHING has to pass through and be load balanced by the cpu, and multitasking is particularily cpu dependant. The gpu is still more then fast enough in the nexusm but augmented by a faster cpu.

Dude, don't even bother.

Truth hurts. The 2 year old iphone comment shows what that poster is really about, certainly isn't fact lol.

the apple phenomenom, expensive items, low specs, people like zombies buying... how long it will last?

You forget secure OS that functions 100% perfect 99% of the time, easy to understand and use and an unbeatable app store. That's why I like their products. Android phones have better specs, but don't work nearly as well. I'd rather pay for the secure functionality.

Its not 2009 anymore, this is no longer the case.Galaxy, nexus and more all work as good if not betetr then any apple product, thans for proving him correct.

Um, no. That's like saying linux and windows work the same. Apples OS funtions better, smoother and is more secure. That's the only reason I use their products and why I pay so much for them. The brand doesn't matter to me.

Absolutely shocking.....this chap is so closed minded on Nexus only and can't even accept the fact that other people could and more often are correct in what they say.

FACT - Nexus 7 is a great, cheap tablet
FACT - Nexus 10 is looking like a fantastic tablet
FACT - iPad 4 is a fantastic tablet

What are tablets used for?  Primarily in my opinion, they are used for web browsing, watching video, sending emails and playing games.

All this talk of CPU and GPU, in the end of the day, if you want to play games on any tablet, you need to have either a super, and I mean super fast CPU or a good GPU.  The iPad 4 has a great CPU and a good CPU.  The Nexus 10 has a great CPU and a good GPU.  Yes in the end of the day it's apples and oranges and it comes down to what you would rather use.  I would rather use an iPad whereas other people would rather use an Nexus or a Surface or A.N.Other.

Prediction (June 12th 2017)

Permanent pricedrop for both PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro in October.

PS4 Slim $249 (October 2017)

PS4 Pro $349 (October 2017)

Thats simply not true, mroe secure? LMAO, there is a reason android was allowed to be used by government employees before ios, and new versions of android have surpassed ios, read reviews.

I think both are pretty secure ...

The only reasons I prefer iOS or apple products are that they have better apps for 'MY' needs (other may have better experience with android) and that all (more or less, except pretty old ones who cant run it any more) devices gets the latest updates < easier app development.

And no I dont own any iOS products any more, just because the android version was 'cheaper' (price/performance).
But I will miss some apps which are iOS exclusive :(

Yes agree, im not arguing if someone prefers ios, many do, but when someone says Android is insecure or slower, thats simply false and bs spread by apple fans. Android 4.1 and 4.2 were a step up from the latest version of ios.  I have no issue with someone preferring ios. But the days of ios have way more apps is virtually gone, android is growing and growing much faster. These exclusive ios apps are few and far between.

I'm kinda new here but....WTF?

I don't think apple will ever exceed Nintendo Wii sales...EVER. You might want to recount that iphone sales. You have to remember that Wii is only ONE unit. Iphone has iphone 1, 2, 3, 3gs, 4, 4s, 5 & soon to be 5s. Ipad has 1, 2, 3 and soon to be 4. And now mini pad.

So, we can now safely say that Nintendo will still be crowned king of sales for ONE unit.

Don't be so sure. Apple sold 125 million iPhones in the past year, and research has shown that around 90% of iPhones sold are the latest model. That means 112 million iPhone 4S's.

Even if the 4S hasn't sold that many yet, you have to take into account that the smartphone market is still growing rapidly, while game consoles seem like they might not be growing at all. The iPhone 5 will likely sell 150 million units or more.

I am not sure if you are using troll logic or if you simply are not good at maths, but the fact that 90% of all iPhones sold in the most recent quarter were iPhone 4S, does not necessarily mean that 90% of all iPhones sold in the last year were the 4S. For all we know, early attach rates were more evenly distributed, and also we know that iPhone is selling faster (better?) now than it did a year ago -- almost 50% faster.

However, it is dangerous to draw any hard conclusions. Unless it can be proven that iPhone consistently increases its marketshare (and so far we know that it only in fact increases it modestly) it could only be a case of fast replacement (adoption of devices by existing users). 'Growing' rapidly is relative, and iPhone 5 grows rapidly only in comparison to previous iPhone models, not Android.

So you were proven wrong and then default back to "better RAM".

RAM is not created equally. iOS doesn't have nearly the memory footprint of Android and therefore runs faster and smoother on "inferior hardware". If you don't need the horsepower to run the OS, why would you complain about less RAM, even though performance is better? More RAM is just another item to suck down battery power.

(note: I'm not bashing the Nexus 10, I think it's a fine tablet but every review is trumpeting the iPad 4... as an iPad 3 and iPhone 5 owner, I can only imagine what the A6 processor can do in that tablet).

All those specs favout nexus except 3g which is useless, yet I was proven wrong? And ram is very important. Also where did I say ram was the only thing? Nexus has more features, better screen. And thats for much cheaper price. Not only did you NOT prove anything, the nexus is a beast and cheaper then the apple product.

Where is your proof Android requires a bigger footprint?

Here's my evidence:

http://www.extremetech.com/computing/102149-why-the-nexus-one-cant-run-ice-cream-sandwich

That's the Nexus One. It shipped six months after the iPhone 3GS with a faster CPU and twice as much memory. Google boasted it was a "superphone." It won't run Android past 2.3. The older, slower, iPhone 3GS with half the memory will run the latest version of iOS, albeit with some software features disabled.

And it's certainly not just Google's flagship, the Samsung Galaxy S can't run 4.0, and neither can the HTC Desire HD with 768MB of RAM.

For Jelly Bean, HTC just came out and said it, 512MB is not enough. But it is enough for all iOS features on the 4S, iPad 2 and iPad Mini.
