Expected Jay520 thread. A game that is not out yet is better than game that is out. No disagreement there.

Expected green_sky comment.

Nice try, but the article compares franchises, not individual entries (in which case, Absolution would have still won).

You got me too Assassin Jay. Didn't like the previous enteries that much. The trial and error gameplay bordered on annoying. Looking forward to this one as it seems to have more modernized (noobified or better word streamlined).

honestly, assasins creed isnt a stealth game any more, not one bit. its not "assassins creed" any more its "run up and kill everybody easily with hidden blades...........creed" come on lets be honest, i love assassins creed, but you stopped being an assassin, your more of a gladiator than an assassin. just look at the trailers, look at assassins creed one trailer and the stealth and style in it, look at 2, then in brotherhood you start to see a shift, the ezio just walks up to his enemy, its more confrontational. then in the revelations trailer he fights like 30 men by himself. but ubisoft apparently saw that wasnt enough. so in the AC3 trailer conor (i guess thats his name) just runs up to fight an entire army by himself, literally. honestly hit man will be a better stealth game than AC3 thats for sure 100%. because AC3 isnt a stealth game, so it cant even compete.

looking at the first gameplay i saw of AC3 was conor in the woods, he notices a bunch of soldiers near bye, so he climbs up a tree and i was like "ohh shit, look how he is gonna climb on the branches and walk unnoticed!" but that wasnt the case, he jumps down and slays like 8/9 guys..... yeah SO MUCH STEALTH. but wait there's more!! he then "sneaks" into a base, then what does he do? blow up some gun powder and just runs down between like 100 soldiers..... wow so much stealth!!!
im gonna play AC3 as i like the series and im a huge action adventure fan, and thats what AC3 is, an action game with no stealth at all. its not the same as the first two games though

excellent post. This generation has been pretty much devoid of good stealth games outside of 2-3 outliers.

Wont be hard beating the mess that is AC3 :|

With that said, I played Absolution at a game convention just a few days ago and I didnt really like it all too much. It was just like a prolouge or something. ..Some chick in the shower and then the demo ended :P. Anyway, all I pretty much did was run straight forward and strangle/break necks/smash heads in with stuff whereas others who played were much slower and acted all "im so pro" LOL. Was a demo though im sure its not that easy haha, but I didnt exactly love it. Felt a bit meh.

Based on how you played it, I don't think Hitman is for you. Hitman was never about running through your enemies without discresion. It was moreso figuring at ways to get past your enemies and attacking only your targets. Absolution seems to cater a bit more to your playstyle though, so we'll see how that goes.

its not just stealth games, its almost every genre other than TPS and FPS. as much as i love uncharted lets be frank, it affected almost every game thats in third person perspective. no matter how big the franchise is. games as big as resident evil now want to be uncharted with zombies, AC stoped being stealth and is aiming at a more action/ cut scene driven based gameplay. and games in the FPS perspective are heavily affected by call of duty now, almost every FPS plays like it and has almost the same controlls, even establshed games like battlefield are trying to be more "casual". the amount of games coming out now are really generic, honestly i look at dishonored and hitman, and they are the only games that have something fresh in them, maybe starhawk as well, but other than that, this year has been pretty much call of duty and uncharted clones

I love the assassin's creed series. In some places you have to use stealth, but that's usually the exception to the rule. I think the series has a good mix of both.

Personally I'm not a fan of assassination games, or games that require a lot of stealth, yet I'm a big Assassins Creed fan. I remember playing a demo for one of the Hitman games back on the PS2, and I just couldn't get into it. I remember back then if I was playing a game and it decided to go all 'stealthy' I would get pissed off, I just hated having to be 'stealthy', maybe it was due to a lack of patience as a kid. Assassins Creed changed that, well ACII to be precise, it had a real good mix of stealth and action. The setting, the story, and the characters all just appealed to me from the get go, and I never felt that they were going overboard with the stealth aspects, all round I just loved it.

Hitman: Absolution does look like a good game. Is it like a hardcore stealth game that's very strict, or is it a little more lenient like AC in terms of, yes, there's stealth aspects, but there's that freedom in regards to it not all being stealth.

Soon as I had seen the title I knew it was going to be Jay. You can't really say it's going to be better until the game actually comes out. Even then they're in two separate genres completely.

lol you've been hyping up this game for a while and you may be right about it but I can find any article I want comparing games.  I bet I could find an article the other way around by typing it into google.  Better yet I can make my own article and post it and act like it is realistic.  We dont know if Hitman is even good yet so let's wait until it comes out before saying it is better than anything.

Hitman: Absolution encourages you to play the stealth route to get the highest rating, but you can still go gun-blazing if you want to. It's not really like certain aspects are stealth and certain aspects are action. It's up to you. You can play the entire game using stealth, or you can play the entire game like using action. Or you could use stealth and settle for action when it gets to difficult.

Yeah, we know Hitman is great, just look at the reviews.

And I doubt you can find any article from a respected publication claiming that Assassin's Creed is better than Hitman. That's because everyone who has played both games knows the truth (Hitman is superior).

Honestly, and I am serious here, I played "Sniper Challenge" a lot, and I enjoyed it more than AC3 as a whole, and its just a small sniper mini game, (got a 1,90000 points if anyone is interested)
