Hundreds of UK stores prepare to open their doors for the latest installment of the £1.9 billion grossing series.

Halo 4 will be launched at more than 10,000 shops across 40 countries at midnight, publisher Microsoft has announced.

In addition, more than 30 marque launches will take place around the world, in cities including London, Seattle, Paris, Berlin, Toronto, Singapore, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Dubai and Sydney.

In London a “spectacular stunt” down the River Thames from the Greenwich Peninsula to Tower Bridge will take place this evening at 7.30pm. Viewers are advised to watch from Butlers Whard next to the Design Museum.

Retailers GAME have said they will open more than 350 stores at midnight, including a flagship launch in Westfield Stratford where they will be joined by developers from 343 Industries for the countdown to launch.

A limited number of fans will also be able to take a free bus from the Design Museum to GAME Stratford after the Thames stunt.

Halo 4 is one of the most anticipated games of the year, and the big budget series has sold 46 million copies and generated sales of around £1.9 billion.

Last week, in a warm-up publicity stunt, part of Liechtenstein was transformed to resemble a war zone in the Halo universe, where guests embarked on an immersive theatrical experience.

I thought it deserved its own thread. Why do you care?

Just seems odd how there are so many halo threads.

That's a shitload of stores.

Maybe because it's the biggest release on the Xbox 360 of a first party game in like 5 years?

This is a discussion on the opening for the game release.

People don't want to shift threw pages on an Official Site to talk about a midnight launch or search for the page that had the openings list.  Posting this in the official thread can also turn the topic of a thread to off topic. ( I suggest putting a link for store locations from places like Gamestop etc)

Just because there is an official thread, does not mean other threads are banned.

This thread with have posts for the launch and then fade away.

when does halo release? Tonight? or tomorrow? I haven't preordered it yet so i may go to a 12:00 launch to buy it.
