Forums - Microsoft - Xbox 720 has Halo 5 being developed for it now says 343 Industries

A new franchise for Xbox would of been better. They've released 5 Halo games just for Xbox 360 (including Halo 4), about Xbox got something new ain't it?

Xbox Series, PS5 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

They'll never stop until the sales drop drastically.

There are always new IPs in a new generation.

I mean new exclusive franchises for the xbox, they have been loads of new 3rd party franchises, but only 1 new IP for xbox (alan wake)

Although Microsoft will invest heavy in new Ips at the begin of next Xbox like Ryse, Vancouver Project etc...

Halo will continue its dominance on 720.

I can't possibly fathom how someone can take "...developing new technologies..." as them working on next gen consoles. Naughty Dog had to develop a dynamic objects traversal system for getting the train sequence working in Uncharted 2, does that mean it came out on PS4?

That's hardly developing new technologies, but exploiting old ones.

Same can be said for anything, even Carmak's mega texturing, doesn't change the fact you still have to develop an implementation.  But the point I was trying to make, is that 343 could be developing new technologies to change up gameplay, I mean, I'm almost done Halo 4 and I can say it barely does anything differently than before (Not saying it doesn't cause it does).  They played it safe with Halo 4, no reason why they can't be making huge overhauls for Halo 5 which doesn't necessarily mean new hardware (Though I do see Halo 5 releasing on new hardware, but this article says nothing for it).

Too Human

Lost Odyssey

Crackdown

Infinite Discovery

Kameo

NNN

Viva Pinata

Blue Dragon

Doesn't include XBLA, where there are tons of 360 exclusive games published by MS.

Just because we now know a Halo sequel is coming, doesn't mean there won't be new IPs. There are always new IPs.
