We most likely wont get one. The creators were brothers. One of them left and the main head died at 40 :(.

Seriously?  That's a massive shame (and quite sad too).

Quite a few of the key figures who created the Wild ARMs series left Media Vision a while back (a pretty good article about it - http://videolamer.com/a-farewell-to-wild-arms) so that series seems on hiatus.  And it looks like Capcom are never going to do anything else with Breath of Fire.

Quite the kick in my childhood JRPG nuts :(

Before my post as lost I saying another BoF in the same vein as 3 or a combo of 3 and 4( both have strength and weakness that could be covered combined) would be awesome. I own every BoF and Love em all. I have been buggin CAPCOM since 2007 for a new BoF and even created the BoF group on unity and brought members from dragon-tear.net help but to avail. Capcom only wants action games. The only reason I still have hop is that the important staff to BoF still works at Capcom, Both just finished Dogma.

As for Wild arms, also own the whole series and they were great till 4&5 when they started being aimed at kids, but I love to see another installment, not that long it as announced by the composer that one was in development but nothing ever came.

Haha.  I've seen that criticism levelled a lot at WA4 & 5.  It's fair.  But I definitely think they did a lot of things right.  Combat system was great, dungeon-crawling was really interesting because they made it more interactive etc.  It's just the stories that were a little lacking.  Wild ARMs is still my favourite JRPG series by far though, I got very hyped by that WA6 news a few years ago but nothing came of it =/

I didn't know that about the BoF staff working on Dragon's Dogma.  That's quite interesting.  But since they've already announced the sequel for that, I guess they're tied up with it for a while?  I'd love to see a new entry in the same vein as 3-4 as well.  4 was my favourite.  I think they got so many things right with that game.

Tell Me Im lying.

In Breath of Fire 4 Fou-Lu had the sickest battle theme ever. In Wild arms 4&5 were great gameplay wise. I love the strategy, but just the overly kid stuff and choking  you with themes like you 'gotta break the wall down", or " Evil adults" " I scared of growing up" was  just vomit inducing

Yeah, I completely understand it.  The WA4 especially was a bit too pushy with the "You can't trust adults!" theme.  It had plenty of moments of brilliance too, though.  I had a great time with it.

Haha.  Fou Lu was one of my favourite things about BoF4, and one of the reasons I liked it better than 3.  I just found him such an interesting character.  I couldn't remember his theme, but if you meant this one:

Then I agree :P

I was a little interested in Grandia 3 but I heard it was mediocre and short so I never wanted to get it. And as for Grandia 2, the PS2 version supposedly isn't that great of a port. Plus the graphics are pretty bad...

Yeah, I played the PS2 version of Grandia 2.  Nothing special graphically, but it kept the fun (albeit broken) combat system and interesting story, so I definitely enjoyed playing it.  I'd have bought 3 if it ever came out over here.

P.S. Really cool to see another WA5 fan.  I agree with everything you said about it.  Having a world map again was one of the best features of it, they seem so rare these days in console JRPG's.  And the battle system was top notch too!  And yeah, soundtrack was great, this was my favourite song:

(Can't get embed to work for some reason, but it's Persephone's theme.  Hers and Fereydoon's songs were kick-ass)

Sorry for derailing your thread so much Vic.  At least we're keeping it in the hot topics :P

What? No, no, I really liked it. Never knew that info about Game Arts before and other things too. I'm a sucker for this stuff.

Soriku, Grandia has the best battle sys ever and Grandia 2 is phenomenal. I own all of Grandia and the only bad one was Xtreme mainly because it was a dungeon crawler.

get Grandia 2 and 3 and 1
