Good and bad.
Fine focus on core market (not core gamer) of families/women/kids/casual males. Ad is attention grabbing and displays a lot of the perks of Wii U. I see they went out of their way to not show any Wiimote swinging, in fact, wiimotes are barely shown at all.
However, if I was not in the know I'd assume the WiiU was a peripheral based on this ad. It only appears to show a new controller and not a new game system. All the games displayed look exactly like Wii games and nothing here suggests a new system is needed. It feels very similar to Kinect marketing in that way, except Kinect was a peripherial. Interested people will be in for a huge sticker shock when they hear $250.
If I was a 3rd party hardware maker, I'd be making 'WiiYou' gamepads for Wii and make a (dirty) killing this holiday.
Actually, now that I think about it, if I could get a 'wiiU' type controller for Wii that would allow me to play games like Monster Hunter and Xenoblade (or any Classic controller (VC) games) in a different room in the house when someone else is using the TV I'd pick it up in an instant.
