And the cockfight has arrived again...

Lol, isn't it awesome.

OT: Good for my favorite franchise. I think 343 is already taking it to a new epic level and I can't wait to see it further unfold.

Personally I was really happy seeing 343 being put together for this game.  They have great developers and they still have bungie members too.  I still think they are going to prove to be one of the best teams put together this generation.

Yeah, I was never worried.

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

Sony fans can't be blamed for thinking Halo was overtracked. The last statement said 43mil just a few months ago, while vgchartz had it at over 45mil. If say Gran Turismo had a similar disparity you could bet your ass a bunch of people would be screaming overtracked as well. Glad that figure turned out to be outdated or a typo. Hopefully Halo can continue to sell well because its my favorite console fps. Really interested to see if Halo 4 can outsell Halo Reach before the nextbox comes out.

I understand that, but now there is no reason to say anything and people are still trying to make excuses.  I mean really?

PC games tend to be pirated.

Yet EA have seen massive growth in sales on it's "Origin" store which is countering the massive store-bought sales drops.

And Steam has over 40 million users now... Heck, I have about 350 games on Steam myself.
Some games have as many as 30+ million players on the PC, Minecraft sold by the bucket loads and there is a massive reinvigoration for PC gaming thanks in part to kick starter, again... Piracy hasn't had as big of an effect as companies like EA and Ubisoft claim, I would blame the invasive DRM, the crap console ports, price gauging etc'... The list goes on.

PC Piracy isn't as big as people think it is, consoles are also heavily pirated now that modders pretty much know the ins and outs of current consoles and can allow pirated copies to run fairly effortlessly.

I honestly wish Halo 3,4 would come to PC, that would be fantastic so I could play them at a 5760x1080 resolution with the graphics set to 11. But that's like hoping for the sky to be fuscia.
Instead I have to play it at 1366x768 with all the jaggies on 7 year old hardware. :(

This is true but games on PC are pirated more on PC than consoles.  It would be nice to see Halo 3-4 come to PC for the graphic leap, however from my experience multiplayer is much better on consoles.  Well I wouldn't say much, but still better.  This is purely my opinion, not fact.  I like console multiplayer better because everybody is on even ground and there are way less hackers.  Steam does a good job with keeping hackers out but games like BF3 I have ran into a lot of hackers.

Who I have to believe??? Eddie Makuch or Microsoft.

Maybe a typo for one of them.

Anyway overtracked in both cases.

Edit - I checked and both datas come from Microsft.

10/10 - 43 million
31/10 - 46 million

So I have some explanations:

- A typo for the first number (or the second) - probable
- Microsft counted different games - less probable
- Halo series sold 3 million in the last 20 days (almost improbable)

More believable than uncharted series from 14 million to 17 million by 1 month

http://www.gamesthirst.com/2012/03/13/quenchables-uncharted-franchise-surpasses-14-million-shipped/

http://www.vg247.com/2012/04/24/uncharted-series-hits-17-million-sales-uc3-goty-edition-confirmed/

And more believable than uncharted 2 from near 3 million to 3.5 million by 8 days

http://www.ign.com/articles/2010/02/12/uncharted-2-sales-pass-original-nearing-3-million

http://www.vg247.com/2010/02/20/uncharted-2-has-sold-over-3-5-million-units-worldwide/

Arguments are not won by trying to talk crap about what the other person likes while ignoring the substance of the post.  Either debate about the point made or ignore it and move on, but don't start bringing in other games you think the other person likes in an attempt to win a moral victory that is anything but.

which is a fair point, so my suggestion would be that for a post like the above you should expand on it, show posts of Ethomaz believing that the Uncharted sales news weren't just typos as well, because at the moment all he would have to argue is that those were typos as well and you'd be right back to where you started.

Seems silly but adding some context can change a post from something that seems like sour grapes trolling ("yeah well a game from your preferred console did the same") to something that looks more like the measured, thoughtful response I think you were going for.  That way things don't get reported.

So is it overtracked or not?

No, it is pretty accurate on this site.  The article says more than 46 million, so it somewhere between 46-47 million.

The article is reporting shipped numbers, no way it could sell more than shipped.
