Really? Last of us? Not GTA5 or 4, Bioshock Infinite or 1, Skyrim or Oblivion, Portal 2, Batman: Arkham City, SM Galaxy 2 or 1, MGS4, or Zelda Twilight princess?

Last of us got game of the gen? No offence man :P (seeing you're a TLOU fan) but Uncharted 2 is a game that TLOU is never going to compete with. Not saying TLOU is bad, it's just not GOTG material. I can see GTA5 or uncharted 2 or Bioshock 1 or any SM Galaxy game competing for GOTG, but TLOU? Don't think so.

GOTY is just a trophy that goes to nobody not even the developers. Its a fake meaning that does nothing for gamers except start fanboy wars. Games should be judge in there catagorys and not overall. People will have overall faverites but that doesnt mean the best platformer is better then the best Action game.

For example best games of last generation

Best Platformer - Mario Galaxy (1 and 2 both achieved 97 metas, no game sequals achieved back to back metas liek Mario Galaxy did, and they achieved it on a console that wasnt HD)

Best MMO - World of Warcraft (May not win GOTY but if your a MMO lover then clearly this game is the best thing you will ever play)

Best Sci-Fi FPS - Halo (Doesnt win many GOTY anymore but does the community need Halo to win GOTY? Halo is by far one of the biggest franchises in the gaming industry, its up there with COD)

GOTY awards never tell the full story as these games give prime examples. 

Also comes down to opinion. To me Halo is the best FPS franchise iv ever played however Half-Life is the best FPS game i have played. GOTY is just a joke these days when not everyone agrees with them. If your going to base console superiourity because your post seems to favor PlayStation then i feel sorry for you. If you rather play Killzone over Halo then fair enough however does that mean a PS3 is the best choice for someone who loves Sci-Fi shooters? Jugding by your post and pic your a PS fanboy (good or bad i dont know)
