The video is clearly meant to be tongue-in-cheek humour and poking fun at both the british as well as the game itself. But of course not at Americans.

I have to say that if this example was the best you could do to show british people complaining, then clearly there is no problem. I personally havent heard much complaining - the british might not be too enthusiastic by how they have been portrayed so far in the game but i dont think they care too much about a fairly weird series about good assassins killing bad templars in a world where the truth is out there (somewhere).

I give all the people in this thread that didn't get the joke in the video 1 greasy American cheeseburger out of 1000.

Quit hating. We Americans saved the world not once, not twice, but three times in the last 100 years. We deserve our fun and isn't the dev for AC 3 European?

Didn't they read the disclaimer before every single one of these games? Those Canadians are a diverse group filled with people who like jam, and one guy who is indifferent to it!

Besides, didn't I get in a fist fight with the pope in one of these games?

I'm British....

I'm offended that some British people are offended. Here in the UK 99.9% of people would call those people who are offended "tossers".

I won't call them that because I've just been banned twice in a row for voicing my view on things I shouldn't have.

Steady on with that kind of talk, if you go back a few hundred more years the "American way" doesn't sound quite as appealing.

The only other people were to deal the British any significant blows were the two other superpowers of the time, the French and Spanish, and then the Germans in WWII at Dunkirk. The odd thing is the British consider Dunkirk a highlight of WWII. Nothing more uplifting than retreating with 50,000 soldiers either captured or killed.

I was never taught to think of Dunkirk as a "highlight", just a major event in the WWII timespan. Typically, we hear of "from Dunkirk to D-Day" which essentially means the turning of the tides.

Although, there is the phrase "Dunkirk sprit", which simply means optimistic in times of great woe.

@Fillet
Was any nations "way" appealing by any standards that far back? What, wasn't it Winston Churchill, a revered prime minister, who helped the British massacre plenty of Africans? And didn't he write a whole letter about how inferior they were but didn't mention how stupid his military was for not opening enough boxes of ammunition?

British people are mad that French published/Canadian developed game is too nice to America? I mean, is this a real statement? Game isn't out yet, and it's not like the British soldiers did a whole lot of good to the colonials of the time.
