No no no fuck remakes no.

Usually I would agree with the "no remakes" philosophy, but there are two facts that we have to look at.

#1: Sam Raimi hand-picked this new director.

#2: Bruce Campbell has enthusiastically endorsed the project. He basically passed the torch to the young woman playing Mia.

I'm behind this project 100%.

There better be more blood in this movie than the first corridor of God of War 3. And the sequel better be the best comedy I'm going to ever watch.

I was trying to poke fun at the 50,000 gallon of blood trophy in God of War 3 and I remember reading an interview with Bruce saying that a sequel needs to be raw and filled with gallons of blood cause that's how they did it.

Well. Evil Dead is tongue in cheek horror, this remake seems to just want to disturb the audience like most modern horror schlock. Still looks pretty good.

thanks for the post! I had not seen the trailer yet. The original was just right for me at that age.. but now i'm not sure it would be the same. I think I'm going to enjoy this remake.. good thing my best friend is a sociopath or I would have no one to go with :)
