Forums - Sales - Japan sales week 42- Famitsu and media-create ( October 15-21 )

Next week:

The AKB game that forgot the basics. Arouse otakus, instead of scaring them! Fatal flaw. I think it'll flop.

Vita has some minor games too, but the star is:

I don't see very good sales for this one either.

13./00. [360] Monster Hunter Frontier Online: Forward .5 Premium Package (Capcom) {2012.10.17} (¥6.090) - 8.010 / NEW

Makes us question... why spend your biggest franchise on this? Real mystery here...

No mystery at all. The PC Monster Hunter goes to the casual PC.

Well, at least put it on the PS3, or don't even put it on 360 in the first place. Those sales are terrible for a MH game. But i guess that's not a real release. I thought it was that new 360 game announced some time ago, but, no, that is april 2013. This is probably just an updated version or something.

It's because porting from PC to 360 is so easy.
Given the constant updates, it must be successful in some way.

RE6 is doing really well for a game that supposedly 'everyone' hates.

i guess we will know when vita has a new colour,

i know sales pick up but its really only november when things start to crunk up,i think, for everywhere that is

3DS & Vita both at their standard levels.

isn't october when holiday sales lifts start kicking in? why is vita beyond dead and to be honest..3ds, ps3, wii, 360, ect all also doing shit for numbers as well? i thought the end of september was the low point but everything seems to keep dropping....or am i just not paying close enough attention?

Used to be that October did see higher sales, but they seem like they've been getting later this last while (economic problems, maybe, and waiting for deals closer to the holiday are my guesses). Things mostly start kicking into gear right around when Black Friday hits in North America, which will be November 23rd this year. Might be a week or so before that elsewhere, but that seems to be about when the numbers skyrocket.

Good sales for LBXW PSP - See Hiska-kun, not bombed - almost in line with my prediction, which was 80-100k (PSP) and 20-25k (Vita) - although with the low ends of it :D! Add a few digital copies here there and...

The other release (LoHE) did a little worse than I expected, but... at least it crossed the 20k mark. Vita getting

Second week for Bravely Default is great, those sales are already good, but maybe this will have legs - now Square could cooperate with stock. Really glad, I think this IP is now settled as a franchise, there will be more!

Project X-Zone not so hot, but did crossed the (or will) the 100k barrier. Expected more for this. At this rate the best it can dream of is matching it's predecessor number (130k) but even that is in doubt right now.

Hardware, eh, same as last week.

Oh, but this sales are good for you? So the problem here is that you and me have different sense of what good sales are.

For me, 16k for the Vita version is bomba. And the PSP version is far from what the first game did (160k). I don't think we can call good sales to less than 100k sold between 2 platforms.

Ah, not exactly good... but ok sales, the game did not bomb, imo. Worse than the first, but still not on flop levels (far from it, too). I was worried because COMG was very low for the game, until some weeks ago.

Vita version kinda bombed, but I never expected too much, you convinced me about this one. Anyway, the innevitable 3DS version of this game can beat both, I think. But even they are not crazy to release a boost version anytime soon (6 months from now minimum, imo)

It's odd which games are holding up and the others who are not. This tail end of the generation has been odd.

So, Bravely Default sold the first shipment, is there any information about new shipments, and if it remains sold out?
I thought NSMB2 would maintain that ~30K until the holidays' effect would kick off, hopefully it doesn't go that low.

PSV had ~44k of new SW, and such a small bump in HW. Bummer.
