Dig deep into your memory for this one guys, I'll post a list of genres and you guys try to remember what was the first game of these genre you ever played and post the which console. I'll start.

Beat em up: Teenage mutant ninja turtles (NES)

Fighting: Mortal Kombat (SNES)

Platform: Super mario bros (NES)

FPS: Duke Nukem 3D or Doom (PC)

TPS: I think Dirge of Cerebus? (PS2)

Sport: NHL 96 (SNES)

Stealth: Syphon Filter 2 (PS)

Survival: Honestly I think Zombies in Black ops (X360)

Adventure: Link to the past (SNES)

Role-playing: Rented FF I or II, first completed RPG is FFVII (SNES or PS)

Sandbox: Grand Theft Auto...not sure which one. (PS)

Strategy: Age of Empire (PC)

Simulation: The Sims! (PC)

Adventure: You're treating Zelda as an adventure game, but an adventure game is usually defined as being in the style of classic Sierra games--or even something like Zork, which was all text. (Zelda is an action-adventure.) But if we go with your definition: Adventure (2600).

Role-playing: The Bard's Tale...probably. (C64)

Sandbox: Elite, which I think counts. (C64)

Strategy: I guess Archon? Maybe? (C64)

Simulation: One of the Flight Sims or Stratomatic Baseball (C64)
