Trouble is I cancelled my PSN Plus as the content you get is well I havent touched it. As I dont play online on my PS3 ( I tried Killzone 3 and Uncharted but theres to few people and disconnects all the time ) Its pretty pointless. Also theres next to no content in the UK on PSN. Live for example has at least 300+ more demos and over 2500 more games than PSN. Thanks to Xbox Live Indie games support. |
What a complete and utter load of bollocks. Take your fanboyism and leave

I agree they're just not remotely similar besides the fact they are subscription based services. I think Microsoft could perhaps offer something different to the current Gold fees and I wouldn't be surprised to see them learn from what Sony is offering next gen and have a two tier Live system. I can see a budget online gaming option and a premium option for bonus media and gaming goodies next gen. Sony have certainly showed there are other models that can be used to generate revenue.

That actually sounds pretty good. I like your train of thought there. I doubt Microsoft would honor any of that though, fan or not everyone knows about Microsofts iron first when it comes to the price of things online. Microsoft wouldnt cut into the current costs as it would affect their relationship with activision and their ability to profit on content on the Xbox Live store. Most of the Xbox Live deals are for old games. They coud use deals on new games like Plus and also give 60 minute demos an actual tier that separates early access to betas where people have true choice to gamers rather than a pay or heres the door method. There is absolutely nothing I've recieved as a perk of paying for Xbox Live for a full year let alone any of the lesser subscriptions. I've owned Plus for three week and I've already had more access to games and betas than I would've ever been exposed to. They need to cut their rewards service, they aren't best buy and they aren't VISA. They make you work for them for your rewards rather than earning it just for being a customer. Microsoft is an American corporation, they learn nothing unless their competition beats them straight out. I am American and even I know this, but Japan works a little differently.
i prefer xbox live over psn because cross-chat is very impotant to me and i only have that on the xbox. that's the reason i even only use my xbox online and not the ps3.
i don't care about the rented games you can play as long as you pay for psn because if they would be important to me i would already own them and if i only want to play a game for few hours i go to the videostore around the corner (yes we still have one here) and play the game for 1.50€ on release day or few weeks later.
so for me, paying $40 per year for xbox-live makes much more sense then paying even only $5 per year for psn which i would still not use then because of the missing cross-chat.
and i can play halo reach and upcoming halo 4 only on live so that alone would be answer enough why i prefer live over psn.
but i can also understand people who prefer psn over live, i just can't understand why other people (like you in your op) don't understand that both services make sense for different people and with that, both services are prefered from different people.

Cross chat is only a service on Xbox Live. Elsewhere It's apart of the system, and its already in the PS Vita. The PS3 cant handle it because of ram, so its definite that the PS4 will have it. You're making no argument for the virtues of Xbox Live.

my argument is that i can't use my ps3 for it so why should i pay for psn when i can only use it when i pay for xbox live? it's not necessary if it is a problem of the service or the console the service is running on, as long as i can't use it, it makes no sense to me to pay for psn or even using it for free.

You're not paying for PSN. Xbox Live is forcing you to pay for something that Sony and PC are already giving to people for free. Cross chat will be featured in the next Playstation next gen for sure.

yes and what does this change now? i pay for xbox live because i can use what i love there NOW and not in 2 years on a console not out yet...so please, let me decide what's better for me and not you.
if you want to speak about my potential situation in some years, come up with it in some years and not now.
or do you also already know how the nextbox will be next gen? because if you say the next ps will have what i miss and will be better for me then, how do you even know what the competitor will have then?

No ifs or buts about it, PS Plus beats XBL Gold because: - 10 instant games to play as long as your subscription is running - 3 More games per month - Some months have a bonus 4th or 5th game - Sometimes get a game free to keep forever. - Several times the amount of content put into PS+ sales than MS deal of the week or other very rare sale specials, over a year is hundreds more items in PS Plus sales. - Day 1 discounts on new games very often - Sometimes brand new games are free for PS+ members - Free avatar items and themes that usualy cost money, keep forever. What does XBL Gold offer that PS Plus doesn't: - Cross game chat - 15s voice messages Not even a contest. |
I agree.
There are thing better on XBL but overalll the Plus offers so much content.
