Its the same beast as the PS3 just different exclusives. They set themselves to do the exact same thing. In the western world one small difference can mean a whole lot. In Japan, it needs to have a big difference to break brand loyalty. Thats why Japan refuses to buy it.

exactly - it's not a matter of brand loyalty like in other continents, japan is quite anti-west products

the comparison of ps3 vs 360 as being "the same beast" doesn't make sense either - xbox has a huge lead in building an online community and being developper friendly which were both winning strategies for them this gen

Really though, neither sold or shipped matters. Install-base is the keyword here. I say PS3 is ahead of 360.

Ah yes, NBA 2K13 is ahead on 360; unsurprisingly, because b-ball is most popular in the US, where 360 does have a larger install base. Globally, it doesn't, though.

Those games are more associated with PlayStation and lets not forget piracy which takes away potential sales.

Just like Call of Duty 360 will trounce Call of Duty PS3. Certain games do better on certain consoles.
