Sadly Halloween isn't that popular around these parts.

For a good scare i'd always go for the classics (originals) though.

The Night of the Living Dead (the original) and Suspiria are the two horror movies that I watch the most this time of year.

It's quite nice to see that people here prefer the original Halloween/Elm Street/Friday the 13th as opposed to the remakes.

Also @HesAPooka, you have quite a bit of classics in the OP. I'm surprised anyone here has even heard of "Bell Book and Candle". Good stuff.

I find older movies tend to produce a nice creepy atmosphere and world instead of relying on shock factor. I do enjoy newer horror movies as well, but for the sake of getting into the Halloween spirit the classics work best.

Big touble in little china is easily one of my favourite movies of all time. It's one of those movies I'd watch over and over as a kid. I can still quote it almost word for word.

I was walking down along the street and I heard this voice saying, "Good evening, Mr. Dowd." Well, I turned around and here was this big six-foot rabbit leaning up against a lamp-post. Well, I thought nothing of that because when you've lived in a town as long as I've lived in this one, you get used to the fact that everybody knows your name.

I love the nightmare on elm street series, even the bad ones had a certain charm to them. I recently bought the whole collection on blu-ray. well worth the S45 in my opinion. although the first one and new nightmare were the only ones that had good extra's on it.

any horror movie gets me in the halloween mood

but the original halloween, texas chainsaw massacre, and firday the 13th are up there followed by dead girl, session 9, and saw

Ah shit most people stole my thunder.... Nightmare Before Christmas

I actually don't give a shit about Halloween because I only went and trick or treating once in my life (when I was 16). Parents called it the devils holiday which I didn't mind since they would give me the left over candy that they didn't hand out. So I never really cared about celebrating Halloween but this movie is pure gold. Makes me almost like the Halloween tradition.

i quite like halloween 3 i think it is where they go to a halloween factory or there is always this advert on the tv in the film,i think its that one anyway

That's actually kind of funny because Halloween has to do with honoring people who have past including saints, which is very UNsatanic. In Eastern europe halloween or as they call it The day of the dead is a day where people pay respect to family members who have died. Most people visit cemetaries etc.
