Seems like undertracked by 500k.
1.5m on shelves?? lol
360 seems to be doing alright considering this is pre-price drop. I look forward to the holiday numbers with the minor price cuts.
It's just that simple.

1.4 if you use 29th Sep data (68,603,097).
Previous first-quarter on shelves.
| Sep 2007 | 1.5 |
| Sep 2008 | 1.7 |
| Sep 2009 | 1.8 |
| Sep 2010 | 1.5 |
| Sep 2011 | 1.4 |
| Sep 2012 | 1.4 |
Now everybody here can call me fanboy or crazy but this number (1.4 million on shelves) seems ON SPOT.

kowenicki said: The supply number being static is ridiculous and wayyyy too convenient, in my humble opinion. But I am very bored of this discussion every quarter. I think the 360 and wii are slighlty undertracked and the PS3 is overtracked by a few hundred thousand. The PS3 according to VGC had zero (NIL) supply in March 2010 and only 14 days supply in June 2011. Sorry, but thats barmy. |
PS3 shipped 35.95m in March 2010... VGC shows 35.7m (3rd Apr 2010)... 250k on shelves... overtracked but not zero.
Lowest Q1 shipments since 2006. Not suprising though. New gen is needed.

Or Sony adjusted theirs numbers... You right the numbers now in Sony site is 35.7.
Edit - A lot of site listed 35.95 in the internet when Sony released their numbers... lol lol lol... all wrong.
Am I the only one that is stunned that Skype is already made them 1 billion dollars last quarter? It is such a great revenue from something they spent a whole field of dump trucks of money on not that long ago. And I think will only grow as it get included onto more things (Still I am a bit surprised it is on Kinect yet. That seems like a missed opportunity.)
I think it also supports the notion that the Nextbox 720 (I forget what we are supposed to call it) will be a powerful lost leader. A very powerful machine, sold at a loss, because the revue comes from Xbox Live (plus Xbox Music and Video) which should only grow. Service revenues are great flexible ways to make money. Plus, game sales are good too.
