Fuck. I have no idea what any of the acronyms in this thread stand for.

DotA2 = Defense of the Ancients "2"
LoL = League of Legends
HoN = Heroes of Newerth

@OP - I dont play LoL, almost did but I do have DotA2, which is fun.

Much better than "Legend of Lelda" or "Dead or the Alive 2" like I was imagining!  This is a PC thread.  I got here by way of Hot Topics so I had no idea I was in a foreign land.   I'll leave you guys in peace.

Dota2 doesn't stand for Defense of the Ancients.

It really doesn't.

Yep, best moba out there and it is blowing up. DotA 2 doesn't look all that appealing and Hon Is basically DotA 1.5 and the champions look so uninspired.

Also, I don't see champions having to be unlocked as a bad thing. You get 10 rotating champs every week and as you play you earned IP, which you can use to buy champions, runes, etc. IT gives you something to work for and look forward to. Once you hit the desired amount to buy a champion, it feels good and chances are you would have tried that champion before you buy it thanks to the rotations.

And then you can lose your earned stuff whenever Riot feels like banning you. Doesn't that concern anyone else?

No because I don't rage, I don't troll on champ select, I report those who are abusive and detrimental to the community, I am respectful to my team mates and opponents alike, I only leave during a game in emergencies and I am able to play all roles meaning I can fill in whatever role is needed on the team without complaint. I may go off on someone but only if provoked and it's still very rare for me to attack someone. If you get banned, you basically were asking for it. Matter of fact, you have to be a complete jackass to get banned in a game like this. 2 years playing this and not so much as a warning from the tribunal, meaning I'm doing something good. So to answer, no I am not concerned because I am a positive addition to the community. I am also humble *wink*

Yeah, Soleron is right. It was my mistake of capitalizing the game name as if it were an acronym. It's just a habit after all the years of the original DotA.

Valve is calling the game "Dota 2," not "DotA 2." They're getting rid of the acronym behind the letters much like "IGN" and others have done.

I feel like we're going a bit off topic here though..

Obviously I wouldn't do any of the trolling/stupid behaviour, I'm just talking about "leaving during a game in emergencies ". I read you get permabanned after like 3 leaves in your first hundred games? I got banned for a week after two within 20. My schedule can't support that low a rate of leaving, sorry.

And, exactly, your fate is in the hands of a bunch of random players. When I spend MY money or time on a game, I want the decisions to be made by an employed human being, and I want the exact circumstances under which you do to be very transparent. Riot doesn't release exact figures of leaves -> ban.
