I know, I know...

The thing is that the PS3 has got to a reasonable price point now and... well you may call me a late adopter. 

I may get a Wii U but that is going to be in the far future whenever the big three release their consoles. I got my Nintendo Wii when the 360 and PS3 were already out. For me, best decision ever. I still spend a lot of time with it. Specially with my son. The 360... not so much. Not saying that the 360 is bad machine, is good, there has been time that I can't find something I like. And I have never been into the xboxlive thing. The online aspect of the PS3 is free. So if I do not play for a month or two it's ok. I like gaming but sometimes I do not have time. On top of that I kind of find  more variety in the the PS3 exclusive games.

So yeah, I think I am going for it this Xmas.

Yes your right, I should'nt have used these words... But srsly, these kinds of ppl reminds me of the ppl who kept giving Michael Bay their money again and again every time a new Transformers came out because of the ''great CGI action/robot fighting'', and I'm sorry but opinion or not, I cant find any other words to describe these ppl.

To me, someone who says that UC3 is the best UC game is like someone saying Other M is better than Super Metroid just because it looks better and that it is a echnicaly more advanced game, I'm not a Other M hater but anyone who says that seems TO ME completly ignorant (again, I should'nt use that word but it's the only way I'm seeing it).

He already has a 360, so he's not getting a PS3 for the multiplatform games, he's obviously getting it for the exclusive content. So your multiplat point, even if it's factually correct, is irrelevant to his motiviation for getting a PS3.

Near the end of the lifecycle is exactly the right time to get a console, especially a #2 or #3 console. It's cheaper than it has ever been (well not quite in the case of the superslim, but close to it) and there's a ton of high quality and exclusive games and the vast majority of them are cheap because they've been out for more than a year.

I was considering an Xbox 360, but only after nextbox comes out when it will be ultra cheap. But then Mass Effect 3 came to PS3 so any reason to get a 360 disappeared. There's nothing on Wii I want to play, so I've never considered Wii. I'll see about Wii U towards the end of its lifecycle. I'll get PS4 midcycle most likely, at least after 2 price cuts. I've never been an early adopter, paying the launch price is not worth it to me.

while i'd agree that uc 2 did have the better campaign i've spent most of my time playing the mp modes from both games and i'd definitely say i enjoy uc 3 mp more...

What games are you interested on the PS3

Personally I'd get the older slim cheaper and buy the games and PS+ separately. I would say you should eventually pick up *big breath in* God of War saga, HD collections for Ratchet, Sly, MGS, and Jak (if you didn't play the PS2 games), LBP2 (free with + if you get that), all 3 Ratchet and Clank futures, Resistance 3, Uncharted 1-3, Flower, Journey, Heavy Rain, MGS4, and Infamous 1-2 and Festival of Blood (2 is free and FoB is only 2.50 with +).

All of these are awesome games that I've kept in my collection even after beating because trust me their single player is so good you'll always be getting that itch to go back. I can't speak on multiplayer and I don't know if you have a 360 with the multiplats.

I think the Uncharted games have gotten better with each iteration (the ones made by ND anyway).  I'm no graphic whore I just liked the ending, set pieces, and level design in 3 better.  I mean they turn levels on their sides and play with physics and then play with your mind so much in 3.  The only sequence in 2 that matched scenes like the ship and plane in 3 was the train.  They're all awesome but 3 is definitely my favorite.

well if your gonna get PS+ i think you should get the new model because it has more memory something that will help a lot with all the downloads PS+ will offer. as far as online experiences the playstation exclusives do offer a lot of variety of genre's, you may like some and may not like most. i honestly loved kill zone and uncharted's online.

why get a PS3? well its exclusives are more than enough of a reason. uncharted1/2/3 god of war (you can get every GOW game on the ps3) heavy rain and a lot more, honestly though i would stay away from infamous, i am about 3 hours into the game and its by far the worst sony exclusive i played this gen, a lot may argue with me about that but the production quality in just rubbish in my opinion

how much is it,but it seems good enough to me,U3.dust and plus gives you enough games to be getting on with,if you can download it all well enough,plus is pretty good if you don't have all the games
