i still don't think 2 hour games should be sold for 15$...it looks great but i just cant justify that price

There are 2 hours games sold for $50.

Anyway this article disagree with you: http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2012/07/09/opinion-all-games-should-be-two-hours-long/

Halo 4 seems to have 2-3 hours campaign like mostly FPS this gen.

Can you back up that blasphemous claim? :P

Maybe on a easy mode speed run, but even that seems like a stretch

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

That's what I read in the internet.

And what the problem? I think Halo is quality and not quantity... CoD have 3 hours campaing too.

PS. The game is already in the torrents... wow 1 month before release.

Hmm....that could seriously impact retail sales and give the illusion the game undersold.

But i digress, this isnt the thread for this. thx

a. thats a horrible flaw in the game industry

b. those games largely focus on the multiplayer experience

c. I think you are undershooting the length of those games by quite a big margin (CoD averages 6-8hours, Halo averages 7-10, Battlefield 3 averages 7) (stats from howlongtobeat.com)

d. If all games were 2 hours long then all games should be 5$

e. I find 2 hours to be way to short to pack in emotion (past the "ooooh, so artsy and deep" level) and gameplay. I mean, most of the time, short games are either shallow in gameplay or story

It has now an metacritic of 81 and is called an gem? http://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-3/the-unfinished-swan/critic-reviews

Not wanting to downplay this success. But it only scored 81 on Metacritic.

Looks to be a barely above average game.

Not downplaying, not at all. Infact Im going to give the demo a try.

Yay!!!

haha ethomaz, sure you had to find an important 360 game to show how games can be short. who cares that halo has spartan ops which will take as long as campaign, that it has multi-player and that those people who play through fps in 2-3 hours run through those games but if review sites say 2 hours for unfinished swan they mean normal playtime which is easily minimum 6 hours for most fps.

but i still agree, downloadable games can be good enough even if they take only few hours or like i already said, games like pacman or geometry wars which have nothing except one screen where you try to live as long as possible. they are still worth the money.

Sorry dudes but I don't care with the length of a game... in fact the average is near 2 hours than 10 hours for $50 games. I'm not defending Unfinished Swan... I just can't see any problem with the length of the game.

Maybe because I grew up playing Mario Bros. (2 hours), Sonic (1,5 hour), Metroid (3-4 hours), Resident Evil (3-4 hours), StarFox (1-2 hours), Street Fighter (20 min), Mortal Kombat (20 min), etc, etc, etc.

Most of the best games I've ever had the opportunity to play had between 2 and 3 hours.
