you know I just realized something....the guy who did the IGN review said he only did like 50 solo missions yes? 0_o Doesn't this mean he missed out one..a LOT!? How the fuck can this be a 'review'?

I started as the swordsmith, that and the cleric have by far the best stats. (12 total each, the hunter has 11, all other classes have 10).

How many missions are there? I've done like 12 and am still on chapter 1!

12 mission and still at Chapter 1? You probably replayed a mission or two since chapter 1 has 9 missions. Here's a quick count

Chapter 1: 9 mission

Chapter 2: 9 miwwionw

Chapter 3: 11 missions

Chapter 4: 10 missions

Chpater 5: 10 missions

Chapter 6: 10 missions

Chapter 7: 10 missions

Chapter 8: 10 missions

Chapter 9: 8 missions

Extra Quests: 31 quests (these are the dlcs released in Japan and included already ingame)

As for weapons, its pretty random. If you're lucky, you'll probably get a good weapon drop with nice skill comination soon. If you're one of those unlucky ones, you can be farming for a month and still not get what you're looking for

On a side note, what sword are you using anyways?

Yes, he obviously missed out on the best parts. My guess is he got stuck on grendel and rage quit and gave it a low score as revenge for having his ass kicked hard by a giant gorilla

By the way, for those of you scratching their heads on where to get certain drops, here's a nice translated list of what drops what and what chapter its most likely dropped. Not sure as how complete it is now since I basically have a general Idea of where to look and what to hunt since, you know, I've practically clocked in over 200 hours now
