I think it's ridiculous of the OP to think horrible women are the cause versus good men. For me I think it's the total opposite - the women in my life have been so awesome and powerful opinionated strong women that I looked up to them and emulated them whilst the men I met were always slightly pathetic in comparison.

All I know is I'm gay; I don't know what made me this way, but it hasn't really made me feel different or special and it's not something I think about a lot. The person I am is far more interesting than the fact I'm queer.

Defective? Perhaps. But genes? Not based on that argument. Humans today do a lot of things that conflict with what we were 'made' to do, but that doesn't mean genetics are the cause. We often learn behavior to conform to society which conflicts with what we were made to do.

So you're saying homosexuals are defective as people?  That is not cool.

I wasn't making any definitive claims. It was just my own idea to demonstrate the possibility of experiences shaping sexual preference. The purpose wasn't to provide a for certain explanation, because there is no certain explanation. Because of that, it was mainly meant to encourage others to give their own opinions without fear of ridicule from people like yourself.

It can't really be a defective gene, because despite having been around for millenia and having shown no positive effects with respect to reproduction, it's still survived. That is to say, a gay person won't necessarily have gay children any more than a straight person will have straight children.

It's all terribly confusing, because that means it can't really be genetic either.

(Also the species is hardly at risk of extinction due to a 10% homosexuality rate)

Being gay is psychological.
Met people who were gay who then became straight so its definitely not genetic.
Im pretty sure if I hung around gay people all the time and went to gay bars and clubs and watched gay porn eventually my subconscious might sway my sexual orientation thats my theory.

Kylie makes a very good point except I refuse to call homosexuality a defect. How successful a species is goes back to how successful they are at reproducing.

I might get some heat for this but there is no evidence out there that convinces me homosexuality is solely genetic. Or at least heavily determined by genes. I do believe it may be a factor among various other factors though.

none of the above. what cause you to be straight? why don't we all think the same? why don't twins like the same things? why do people have deformaties? why don't all wemen have big ass and breast? why don't all men have big dicks? why can't everyone study the same, be as intelligent as the next person.

answer all these, and you'll be a god, cause i can't answer any of these quesions.
