Forums - Sales - Warhawk sold more than 400 000 units in EU alone!

Either way, warhawk has sold past 1 million.

No?

If Ioi doesn't track D/Ls then it has unquestionably sold more than he has estimated, but it's entirely possible that this isn't a million. Heck, the totals you've just given (US + EU) barely account for a million without taking any of the factors I've just given into consideration.

Yes, this is not including japan sales.

You expect over 200k of the "registered" are rented? Once you delete your warhawk data on your HDD you off the list.

Rented, or re-sold, or borrowed, or multiple PSN accounts on the same PS3.

It's possible this is drastically undertracked, but you honestly have no clue how significant or insignificant those above factors are (nor do I). There is no way to know what you're stating as fact, and I'd wager it's extremely unlikely that the game has sold over a million (or even 750k) when the above factors are taken into account.

"hey guys, lets all shake our heads in disbelief because its about the PS3. Sales CANT possibly be going alright on that platform, hmpf!"

No mine is U.S only, his is europe. Those are downloads-disc copies sold.

Or rented. Or borrowed. Or purchased and then re-sold.

Wouldn't unique PSN IDs create two separate connections? In that case, you could also have multiple connections from the same PS3 using different names.

Only if you have the CD version.  The Download version only lets you play on one PSN ID per machine.

Other likely scenario is one person owns Warhawk, then installs the game on his friends PS3 for when he's over there and they want to play Warhawk.

Most people likely won't delete there warhawk data because most people won't hit their storage limits for a long time.

Well I believe Sony expected of GT5 Prologue, 1 download copy for every 2 retail copys sold in japan. That's where i'd start the estimation. Probably round down a bit for American and Europe considering that high internet speeds are much more common in Japan.

Different game but it's all you really have to go on.

Nothing i'd try and esitmate sales on though.

You do realize I've made entire threads dedicated to analysis showing that PS3 software sales are fine, yes?

Overall PS3 sales are fine. I think Warhawk sales are fine, too, but it isn't a million seller. If someone were to claim that UT III was a million seller, and I claimed otherwise, would I be unfairly critical of the PS3?

I'll just repeat this one more time in a hope to temper the flames and continue reasonable discussion: overall PS3 software sales are fine.

I'm pretty sure it's more of a... "Lets make sure you have the methodology right before you draw conclusions" type thing.

As on a site centered around statistics... you have a lot of anal people who don't really care about numbers that can be misleading do to a number of unaccounted for factors that can ruin the data set.

Instead of just latching on to a random number they see.

Overall PS3 software is fine.

CoD4 and Assassin's Creed did extremely well on the PS3.

Heavenly Sword has ended up doing just fine for itself.

Uncharted is headed for a million seller.

Both PES and Winning Eleven are million sellers on the PS3, but not on the 360.

Lots of solid performances by PS3 games, and I'd say Warhawk is included in that,  but it is not a million seller.
