Forums - Gaming - Metal Gear Rising: Reveangance - Looked great at TGS. Starting to have a change heart

Initially I was to going to ignore Reveangance, especially with  a Real MGS just announced. I  ignored Peace Walker too, and boy was that a big mistake, but I'll save that for another thread. I'm in such a Metal Gear mood this past month and with me almost finished with Peace Walker and Ground Zeroes most likely pretty fay off, the only thing between now and then is Reveangance. I decide to give it aanother look with the most recent TGS stuff.

That was awesome. Turns out that most of the media at TGS had MGR:R as the best shoing and has had nothing put good feedback so far. I'm still on the fence alittle bit but Revengance is lookng more interesting than the original debut. I still wish it was stealth though. Has anybody else gaining a different opinion on MGR:R?

The more I see it, and especially the story trailer, the more it looks like Vanquish with swords.. And boy did I like vanquish..

I think people are in shock because of how much it ISNT a MGS game, and thus say it looks like crap, and to be fairthe only thing MGS about this is Raiden and the title.  Judged on its own though, this looks like a pretty solid game.

Platinums: Red Dead Redemption, Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, Terminator Salvation, Uncharted 1, inFamous Second Son, Rocket League

Okay I don't know why people are on the rag about this. It is a spin off. Everyone loved Raidens action moves during MGS4 and now that we have a chance to play it people are saying "NOT A REAL METAL GEAR!!!". For a hack and slash it looks good. It even adds more elements other Hack and slash games don't give, the free control for the blade for one. Sorry that is my little rant.

Anywho This game is going to be good it has a unique feel to it, played the demo. The only issue was blocking, where you need to use a weak attack right as the enemy attacks you to block, which isn't bad. It kind of makes it feel like blocking with a sword is hard, compared to hold R2 and block every attack. It also showed a degree of stealth and intuition, using the dwarf gecko as your robot to stun guards. Sorry for my little rant at the beginning huge MG fan.

Its an spin off and it looks like its going to be a good one. Platinum always delivers.

THIS, I wont be getting it because it ISNT a MG game, that doesnt mean it will be a bad game though. Not really a fan of PG or hack n slash in general but for those who are, then this looks like a good time

I feel the opposite of the OP. When the first trailer came out years ago I didn't really care much. But after it switched hands to Platinum each trailer has looked better and better.

Can't wait for this great game to come out along with Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes :) Would be playing on my PC

No one else seems to have noticed this but I thought that in the top trailer the dubbing seemed off - the words they were speaking didnt jive exactly with the motions. Also I found of the dialogue forgettable and boring. However the action was pretty cool and the whole slicing-into-pieces slo-mo mechanic seemed well done.
