Forums - Nintendo - A very sad Wii Story

To find a Wii use sites like

http://www.outtastock.com/wii/

They keep a constant survey on shops which have Wiis available.
Good luck finding one! I got my Wii by making my dad wake up at 2 AM and drive me to Target. There he left me as I stood with a growing amount of people in line. This was in January 2007. Luckily for me, I was the 12th person in line and Target had gotten 15 Wiis.

Sounds a lot like what happened to me. Except it was Circuit City and I went in March 2007. Waited Sunday morning around 7AM in the cold and wind. They had 14 Wiis, I was 12th in line.

that sucks man...damn old people

Do none of your stores offer this:

Go in... ask for a Wii, they have none.
You put your name and phone number on a form and pay £20 [or whatever]
When they get Wii stock they call you, and hold it for you as long as you come and pay the rest [£160 in my case] within 2/3 days.

If no-where in America does that then it damn well should.

They tried that, but there wasn't enough supply of paper to make the lists :P

They only do it for games.  Presumibly so your interest keeps up.  Instead of just putting your name on a list, then two months later realize you don't care about the product anymore.

uggh.. i have no time to play it anyways... and besides, I had money for the shank and setting for my engagement ring.

psn- tokila

add me, the more the merrier.

How about this. Buy a crap broken Wii from Ebay for cheap. MAKE SURE IT COMES WITH EVERYTHING AND WAS PURCHASED WITHIN 90 DAYS. ALSO CHECK PROOF OF PURCHASE! Then, call Nintendo up and tell them you Wii broke. They will ask you to ship JUST YOUR WII (no sensor bar or cables) to somewhere to the Nintendo HQ in Washington. Then, wait 3-5 BUSINESS days and you will get a new Wii shipped from Nintendo to you! You have to pay about 15 bucks for shipping though.

I would just eBay one, and get it over with. I still can't believe how hard it is for others to find them locally. I always thought the whole Wii-selling-out thing would have died, at most, a few months after launch.
