Forums - Sales - FIFA 13 pre-orders hit over one million, demo downloaded 4.6 million times

VG247

FIFA 13 has pre-orders have hit over one million, according to EA. If that figure seems impressive, the demo has now been downloaded 4.6 million times on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. Demo downloads increased 42% it said, and the Facebook page has surpassed 10 million Likes, with FIFA 13 mentioned every 1.3 seconds on Twitter, YouTube and other social media platforms in the three days after the demo launched. FIFA 13 released today in the US and is out on Friday, September 28 in the UK. Thanks, GI International.

I can´t wait to play it. The demo was sweet.

I might pick it up on 3DS, as i really enjoyed Fifa 12 on that platform.Hopefully it will have an online mode this time as Fifa 12 didnt, prob due to being rushed out on time for a new system.

I want to know how Fifa 13 in psvita will do

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

today i saw a lot of advertisement for the demo . german football league "bundesliga" on sky and every second time or so on conference channel when they switch between the games i saw a short "download the demo now" haha.

and i also saw a lot of "real" adverts for fifa on some channels. everything only for playstation, sony knows what they have to advertise with in europe, microsoft seems not to realize that (or at least in germany)

Most of my friends have been talking about it a lot on Facebook these past few weeks!

I didn't notice much difference from 12 to 13 in the gameplay personally. The AI on my team seemed a bit smarter I guess, they actually tried to run and create some chances.

From what I've experienced when I played it:

- First touch controls (obviously)
Can be frustrating at certain moments, but overall adds lots of realism.

- AI opponent behaves more human, makes more mistakes, like incomplete long range passes even on higher difficulties.

- teammate AI passes the ball to another player after the referee whistled (or ball going out of play), so that you can quickly continue.

- more realistic use of the player impact engine.

- improved dribbling

Some nice, while not spectacular, changes that make the game more enjoyable. However I'm mostly looking forward to the Skill Games.

Sony and football have a nice relationship. I see 'PS Vita' billboards and 'PS3' all the time when watching football matches from England.

yeah playstation is even one of the six main sponsors of the champions league and that as long as i can remember. the other five are sony (lol), heineken, ford, mastercard and unicredit.

€dit: oh just saw since this year sony is only advertising playstation and the other brand is gazprom now.

For some reason FIFA has become the smartphone of videogames. Update will be bought by many fans, no matter what. Can't blame them, good games, but I don't understand the appeal anymore.

Downloaded the demo, didn't like it at all. Downloaded the PES demo, didn't really like it either, but it's still better than FIFA imo. Realized again what became obvious for me a few years ago with PES 2008 on Wii and FIFA 10 on PS3: I don't like football videogames anymore.

And Borussia Dortmund gave away 2 points in Frankfurt today. Bah!

Now I need something to cheer me up; The first FIFA game I ever played was FIFA 94, where you could try to escape the card booking, Benny Hill style: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7w1crw8MCEc

AI + refined and polished impact engine were the gameplat changes I noticed.
